Consultant appointment
10 weeks till my first appointment with consultant, seems a long time. this will make it 20 weeks before I get URSO. I am asymptomatic, hopefully will stay that way. How long did others have to wait.

ALT anf GGT going back up after several years on Urso anyone?
Hi just had my latest LFT results and my ALT and GGT are elevated and this continues an upward trend over the past year or so. My other enzymes aren't static by any means but they aren't on an upwards trend. The ALT and GGT aren't at any kind of alarming level - nothing like they were before I started

Am an oldie on here by sounds of things in relation to how long have had pbc!
I was diagnosed in 2002 with pbc having suffered the symptoms of it namely horrendous itch, fatigue and joint pains, the worst of these for me being the itch. I have had the itch to a greater and lesser degree day and night (worse at night) for the past 11 almost 12 yrs. On the whole I learnt

Is there anyone on here who has had pbc for more than 10yrs, suffered with the itch but never been on urso?
I have suffered with the dreaded itch for 11yrs and have been on urso all this time (apart from first 3 months of my pregnancy 6 yrs ago). I have managed to live with it all this time and using questran light has helped but have never gotten rid of it completely. Then from sep 2011- aug 2012 it became

Anybody feel really sick taking Ursodeoxycholic?
I am advised to take Urso 300mg 3 times per day but it makes me feel really sick.(I've been taking it on and off since 2004 because it really doesn't agree with me but they say there is nothing else) I am fortunate in that I have no symptoms from the PSC despite having being diagnosed in 2004 and

Started the Urso today
Felt a bit strange today getting the urso and taking first tablet. At least I know what the score is now and the 3 months of waiting and wondering is over. I did find out that my ama test was the m2 type today which i think holds more significance to pbc so all in all it stacks up. I am told i

What are your experiences of blood tests when first put on URSO? My GP says I don't need any until I see my consultant at end of February?

Had the appointment now
I was told I didnt have pbc by my GP when she discovered the positive AMA and normal LFT in August this year. Despite this I was referred to a consultant for further tests and since then I have waited around on nhs lists hoping to see a liver specialist, but with the prospect of a 5 month wait i decided

I was diagnosed with PBC some eight weeks ago so finding this Forum very interesting.
However I would like to enquire whether any others suffer from a dry mouth syndrome? I have had a biopsy for Sjogrens which proved negative but I still have a very dry mouth and a sandy taste in my mouth. Urso has helped slightly with the dry mouth situation but I am wondering whether this can be attributed

I have PBC. A trusted naturopath prescribed supplements. My GP is against .Liver specialist ambivalent. Im stuck in the middle. Advice pls
The naturopath is my sister. She has researched my condition in depth. My GP says it might interfere with Urso . My liver specialist wrote down what was prescribed but really wasn't interested- too busy to think about it I suspect....but now what????

Has anyone else been on urso for many years ,come off it and improved symptom wise in doing so?
I have been taking urso for 10years and after reaching the end of my tether with the horrendous itch I decided to stop taking the urso to see if I would feel any different. I based my decision on my blood results over the last 11 yrs which is when I first took the itch amongst other symptoms. There
