Stopping urso
Hi there. I've been taking urso for 9 years but have gradually become intolerant and have stopped taking it two weeks ago. Feeling a lot better now. I was wondering if anyone else has stopped taking urso and why? Thanks.

AMA TEST
I was diagnosed in 2007 from blood work, no biopsy. I had a Mitochondrial (M2) Antibody score of 42.3. The lab has a reference interval of >24.9 for positive. Also, mu Immunoglobulin M was 320, where the interval range is 40-230. Was started on Urso right away and still take every day. All of my ultrasounds

Does PBC respond to steroids?
Any help please? I was originally diagnosed with PBC and following a biopsy also diagnosed with AIH/PBC overlap. I was already on Urso and pred and Aza were then added to the mix. After a few months of steroids my LFT's had greatly improved and some were almost normal. Next I was told I didn't have

Allergic reaction to all medication
Diagnosed with pbc 9 years ago and have been on urso since then. Gradually over the years I've become intolerant to different medication ie statins, antibiotics, etc until last week Dr gave me steroids to calm inflammation in neck causing trapped nerve in shoulder. 2nd day had palpatitions, sore burning

Waiting for diagnosis
Hi I am new to the site and wondered if anyone has had a similar experience or can offer advice about PBC. In August last year I was tested for coeliac as I was having digestive problems. Test results showed no allergy but I was quite anaemic and put on iron straight away and referred for an endoscopy

PBC and dietary advise
Hi! After being dignosed with PBC (and possible AIH overlap) I've gradually learned to accept the fact that I have PBC and it's not the end of the world... AMAs and ANAs both well over 5000 titer and liver biopsy revealed stage 1 fibrosis & damage in my liver. Have been taking 5 x 150mg URSO for about

Just diagnosed with PBC
Hello, Thankful I've found your forum. I went to GP for gastro issues and found to test positive for AMA. Was prescribed Urso 300 mg x 3 a day. Just curious as to what stage I might be in. Is this considered alot to take right off the bat and does this mean I have some liver damage? I feel fatigued all

newly diagnosed
Hi I'm 41 and have just been diagnosed with pbc and it's all I think about 24/7 which isn't really a good thing as I have two small children and juggle work too. I have been reading posts on here which I am finding very helpful. I have been trawling the internet too trying to find out what I should

Worried
Hi, I was diagnosed in 2011/12, started Urso but LFTs have never got back to normal. I've had an ultrasound which showed enlarged spleen and dilated bile duct, is this something that can happen with PBC ? Bit concerned, I've ended up having an MRI within 3 days of seeing consultant! Waiting for results

Primary biliary cirrhosis
I was told I have Primary biliary cirrhosis in June 2015 and prescribed ursofalk 500 twice a day. I am struggling to take the full amount because of the side effects, ie nausea, bloating, etc. GP suggested halving the dose and build up gradually. today I have only taken 250 dose and now have indigestion

PBC / AIH overlap?
Hi all. I have been taking Urso for 18 months since diagnosis of PBC and generally feeling ok. Some stomach problems but manageable. A few months back I started to feel very tired all the time and my regular LFTs started going in the wrong direction. My consultant suspects AIH overlap and I'm awaiting

Just been diagnosed today
It's been so great to read your posts, it does make you feel you are not alone in this. I have just been diagnosed today and given URSO. As I am both ANA and AMA positive, the doctor thinks that I should do a liver biopsy as well to rule out overlap of both PBC and autoimmune hepatitis. I am very scared

Just a question... about stopping ursodiol
I am taking Urso for PBC. I am curious what would happen if I just stopped taking it. Before you start shaking your head I know the Ursodiol is supposed to be slowing the progression of the PBC etc. I want to know what would be my likely and immediate effects. Most notably I'm wondering if liver enzymes

Still not prescribed urso
I am not sure what to do here. I was diagnosed last September as Asymptomatic PBC as well as Polymyalgia Rhuematica. I wrote to you all at the time as I was in bad state of shock (prob still am!) I was told at the time by the Hepatologist that as LFT and IgM were completely normal and I had never had
