Newbie Here
New user here. Can someone help me with abbreviations you all use? Urso, AMA, etc? Thinking about all this on top of the Fibro/CFS/ME is frightening after reading what everyone is going through. Is PBC more debilitating that Fibro/CFS/ME? My Dr. appt is next week, had Fibro/CFS/ME for 20 years and

To biopsy or not
I know in the US that biopsies are more of the norm than in the UK. For those that have a positive AMA and normal ALP a biopsy may catch PBC in its earliest of stages. Also, there are those who have end stage PBC and have never had elevated ALP. I’m sure it’s a lower percentage, but a biopsy could have

Hair Loss
I have been on Urso for about a month now for PBC and now see an alarming loss of hair around the hairline in the front and sides of my face. It has receded a good half an inch or more. I've read posts from the past that say this is down to PBC and not just the Urso. Has anyone else had this experience

New Biopsy report: The submitted biopsy does not have any diagnostic features of primary biliary cirrhosis
I was diagnosed in 2010 after elevated labs and AMA. Biopsy from 2010 states: Morphologic features consistant with an early stage of primary biliary cirrhosis (stage 1 of possible 4). Presence of periductal granulomas and small duct epithelial damage. Reticulin stain reveals clumping of reticulin fibers

My wife can't take URSO
Hello, My wife has early stage PBC and was subscribed URSO, but gets paralysing stomach cramps when she takes a single tablet. So now she's stopped taking them. What's left for her now? I'm so wirrued for her, I can't sleep at night. If she needs a liver transplant, I'm only to happy to give her half

Why does Urso just quit
I am reading that so many with pbc or psc took Urso for years and then all of a sudden it stops working for them. Does anyone know why Urso stops doing its job? I also read somewhere that if you have pbc that you can’t get psc. That you can not have both diseases. Is this true

Thyroid
Am curious if anyone on Urso or Ocalvia are having issues with TSH. In June my TSH was little above normal range so Dr increased levothyroxine. Had it checked last Friday because I’ve been so cold & sluggish. It is steadily getting higher which means I’m not getting enough thyroid so he increased again

Alk Phosphatase Level’s - URSO for 3 Months
Been on Urso for 3 months and ALT and AST levels reduced by 50%, but alkaline phosphatase was about the same. Doctor says to not worry since the one year mark is the true indicator on whether or not the drug is working. Another doctor said she does not consider the alkaline phosphatase levels as an indicator

Confused
Can somebody orient me. I was diagnosing with pbc three months ago and started on Urso with a great response. Then two weeks ago I visited my hepatoligist and she said I had overlap syndrome which I was proscribed prednisone and azathioprina. So yesterday I took my labs and they came back a little higher

Urso
After taking urso for 6 weeks my levels are all normal, should I now stop taking urso and look closer at my immune system? I am still unsure my diagnosis of PBC was correct.

Alk-phos climbing up... 😔
Hello all, Well, got my labs back. Everything is in normal range except my AMA M2 and my alk-phos. It's elevated yet again. Slowly over the past few months it's been climbing. It was 162 three weeks ago and it's 174 today. I'm taking the mid range level of my URSO for my weight but I'm still within
