PBC & nausea
Hi all Does anyone with PBC suffer with nausea and some pain, possibly gallbladder/pancreas. I also have oesophageal reflux which I take drugs for. I have been told I have polyps in my gallbladder and am scanned regularly. I just wondered is this likely to be a symptom of PBC or a side effect of the

Fibroscan
Hi, I have a diagnosis of PBC since 2008 and I am on urso 750 daily. I have a yearly US and I am wondering what is the purpose of a fibroscan. I know it will give a better indication of where you are at but it won’t change medication or treatment as a result ?

Should I get liver biopsy? Advise and guidance needed.
Hi! Sorry if post is too long. I am new to the group and grateful to have found it. I received a call from my GI doc yesterday saying I might have PBC and wanting to do liver biopsy to confirm it. Needless to say I am super distraught at the moment and have been crying since that phone call as I started

I got a copy letter today, it was sent to my GP on 24 July. It says my liver is distorted and the second MRCP is suggestive of cholangiopathy, PSC, they suggest me taking Urso, 750mg daily. I have heard nothing from my GP, it is the first I have heard from the scan which was done in mid-May. I have

Liver biopsy negative but specialist says I have PBC
Well after fighting with my Gastro she sent me to a liver specialist. He looked at my chart and said the biopsy was wrong I am diagnosising you with PBC. He is putting me back on Urso and gave me that aweful powder for the itching (still trying to figure out how to take it). He did say it is really

Huge spike in LFTs
I first went on this path to being diagnosed by a sudden spike in my liver function tests about 3 years ago. They gradually went back down to normal and have been in the normal to high normal range since then. Taking Urso. I happen to have seen two doctors in a couple of weeks - it's just that time of

How often do people get a scan?
Hey folks. Just wondered how often everyone got either a ultrasound or fibroscan? I was told last year that I should have bloods done every 6 months and an annual fibroscan. Well, when I went for my yearly review the doctor said I no longer need a scan because my bloods are normal. I am delighted that

OCALIVA /Fibroscan Results
Last year my fibroscan result showed my fibrosis to be early stage. Now it is early stage 3 fibrosis. I m disappointed to say the least. Dr is not worried at this point. He said fibroscan results can fluctuate & it might be lower with next scan. He told me to not get depressed about this, especially

Emigrating with PBC?
Does anyone have any experience of moving abroad and obtaining a new urso prescription and monitoring in their new country? I have no particular country in mind, I’ve just always thought about emigrating but then that idea went on hold when I was diagnosed with pbc several years ago. Just to give more

Elevation of liver enzymes in Alagilles
Hi , My 17 months old daughter was born with Alagille Syndrome, she was doing quite ok and showed positive dynamics and gastro team moved us from every 6 months check up to every year appointment. Her last liver scans were good and bloods were going down, still elevated but reasonably for Alagilles,
