Does anyone with PBC suffer with nausea and some pain, possibly gallbladder/pancreas. I also have oesophageal reflux which I take drugs for. I have been told I have polyps in my gallbladder and am scanned regularly. I just wondered is this likely to be a symptom of PBC or a side effect of the reflux drug or URSO. Anyone have anything similar and found a solution?
Thanks

I don't have pbc but have had gallstones and pancreatitis. The gallstone pain was mainly in my back , between my shoulder blades and I did feel nauseous. The pancreatitis pain was horrendous and felt in my right hand side. I had to lie on my left side and take shallow breaths. I have cirrhosis but am at the start of the investigations as to the cause but I hope someone who has more knowledge than me can help you.
I have pbc returned after transplant, I occasionally have pain not much nausea now after transplant. If the pain is over upper right quadrant? I think likely liver or gallbladder. I never had gallstone polyps but my partner did and they caused occasional quite sharp pain. He easily had them removed with keyhole surgery. I hope your heptologist is aware of all this as they I’m sure can help tease it out for you. You don’t say if your going to have your polyps treated? I hope you get treatment soon.
They’re monitoring the polyps and plan to remove the gallbladder when the polyps are a certain size. It’s just so difficult to know for sure whether the nausea & pain is a symptom or side effect of the drugs!! I see my hepatologist in Nov so I’ll ask for some clarity.
