Matcha tea
I would like to start on this tea. Will apixiban and match tea conflict? I know it will with warfarin because of the vitamin K but I also know it is a "blood thinner" but can't really get any info on what that actually means. Should I avoid it?

Hello everyone - Having experienced a TIA at the beginning of February and having been admitted to hospital for a couple of days then diagnosed with A-Fib a few weeks later following monitoring with a portable ECG, I discovered and registered on this site and have found the comments both informative

Do dietary calcium and vitamin D matter?
New French study below. There are "convincing" studies going back at least 20 years that associate excess calcium intake with aggressive PCa. "Convincing" in the sense that avoidance of high levels of calcium from dairy &/or supplements has become common PCa advice. Perhaps less known is the mechanism

TUMOUR HCC (cancer) No transplant. No treatment. I can’t accept this.
Hi everyone. Sorry I’m kind of posting about the same thing but I really need some help/advice. Mum had her follow-up cat scan yesterday and her tumour has grown to 7 cm and there are possibly one or two more. Her doctor is adamant she is not eligible for transplant. Her doctor doesn’t want to do any

INR up and down vitamin K, and then fragment depending on reading. I feel so ill
Hi everyone, thank you for all your support. My arm has had a CT SCAN. Awaiting results to see if they can re- break it, to put the humerus and shoulder in the correct position so it can heal better, and give me more movement back and hopefully down the doses of morphine I’m living on, but the surgeon

Vitamin D & all-cause mortality.
New study below. I am posting this because of some negative PCa studies conducted on populations that are largely vitamin D deficient for much of the year. Inexplicably, sufficiency (>32 ng/mL) has been associated with increased risk. Essentially, the risk was U-shaped, with the lowest point somewhere

Warfarin reduces vitamin K, which aids calcium build bone
I finished my DSNS taper of pred on 13th March, after 20 months. I have now set about seeing whether I should and could change my blood thinner from warfarin to one of a number of more recent NOAC drugs, which offer a number of benefits. I noted that warfarin 'reduces the availability of vitamin K produced
