Others don’t understand
I know we’re all usually talking about our meds, but I’m wondering how everybody is faring when trying to explain to others what we go through. I’ve had my adult children question why I take oxycodone. Some seem to understand, some are very judgmental. RLS can start at 10:30 am, and is why I’m spreading

FLU VACCINE
I am in the UK on Venetoclax and have just spent 5 days in hospital with COVID. Is it safe to have the flu vaccine and is it hit or miss whether the vaccine is actually for the strain of flu which is going to be around this winter

I had a bad cough with a chest infection (in my opinion). The third time this year. On previous 2 occasions, I was given 30mg pred per day for 5 days and an antibiotic, and chest cleared each time. I have been in contact with covid, but have not had +ve test. This time I was not given, I was refused

?asthma
a few years ago after a bout of bronchitis which I often got in the winter I was given asthma pumps, I’ve never been sure if I had asthma. Following wheezing when I lay down or even in the day my doctor listened to my chest and sent me for a chest X-ray, this showed a shadow on my lung and I was sent

Flu jab
As flu vaccine season will soon be on us I was wondering if my husband will get a flu jab this year (I have asthma, therefore I qualify). In previous years he has been eligible but I believe the criteria has changed. Any thoughts?

Advice on increasing Pred for breathlessness and persistent cough
My GP told me that breathlessness is a symptom of PMR, so I can't seek her advice on how to manage this cough etc. Some people are saying that Eris Covid is around and it presents as a bad cough which does not show up as positive on home covid testing kits. I have had a persistent productive cough

Kennel cough vaccine dilemma
My wife recently took my dog to the vets for his annual booster and kennel cough vaccine. As I am immunocompromised I am aware that there is a very small risk to myself as the kennel cough vaccine is live. I also understood (maybe incorrectly) that if my dog did not have the vaccine and were to subsequently

Options for Recurrent PCa w/ RT Initial Therapy
Looking for options with intent to cure if recurrence is limited to prostate only, pending PET-PSMA. Have read about these options: Prostatectomy/Brachytherapy/Cystoprostatectomy/Cryotherapy Anybody have any knowledge or studies that might suggest a direction? Still hoping for the possibility

Prolapse surgery
I have suffered with uterine prolapse for approximately 4 years and have had a Gellhorn pessary for almost 3 years. Prolapse is now at stage 3 with more and more problems with the pessary, discomfort, burning bladder and infections. It came out so now have a larger pessary. This is even more uncomfortable

Temgesic/Buprenorphine
Jelbea and Shumbah have both posted recently about Temgesic versus Buprenorphine and the different half life of these 2 medicines. Both have Buprenorphine hydrochloride as the active ingredient BUT Temgesic has a much shorter half life. This means it will have to be taken every 6 to 8 hours throughout

Problematic mucous & dry cough ..
Hello, Dad's cough is now pretty mucousy, and dry at the same time. Both are frustrating/aggravating for him, in different ways. For the mucous part - we try to do some mild chest tapping to encourage it out & I know that drinking good amounts of water is good for that too. Any

Cold water!
I went swimming for the first time yesterday since my diagnosis of PAF 18 months ago. I'm on holiday in France at the moment. It was an outdoor pool and it's hot here so the water felt really cold. I went in waist deep and then ducked under. I swam for a few metres then realised I was in AF. I guess

Medically induced zombie looking for help!
Is anyone else on Pregabalin and if so, how do you cope with 'zombiefying' side effects? I spend most of my working day on a computer and sometimes I feel like I can barely keep my eyes open. I'm also on Celecoxib and Topiramate.
