Test results, a penny for your thoughts?
Hello everyone, just had my latest blood tests done. Just curious what you would say about them, if you have the time? A few months ago I went up by 12.5mcg in an attempt to bring my TSH down to around 1 where I generally feel better. My weight is a lot better these days, my heart rate has finally calmed

How do you manage to work?

Consultant
Hi all, I live in Jersey in the Channel Islands and the consultant I have been seeing never keeps me updated and rarely follows up with me. As a result I have gone months not knowing where I am at with things. I am currently back on 20mg of as a result of a relapse last October but now have no idea

Help for extreme pain in thighs and arms
I took my last prednisone tablet mid May (GCA diagnosed late April 2019); cortisol test in June was 203 (reference range in Canada is 135-537); 380 in September so my adrenal glands are well on their way to recovery. I have been on Actemra injections since October 2019, now every three weeks (until January

Update re: decision on RAI
Hi everyone, I posted last year regarding feeling nervous about being referred for RAI. I just thought I'd update on my situation. I didn't go ahead with it and I am so glad I gave myself some time to do further research and to adopt a wait and see approach. My TSH was low but perceptible and my

Graves and muscle pain
Hello, I was diagnosed with Graves in 2012, responded extremely well to Carbimazole. I relapsed in 2019, and in 2021 and now in 2023. I’m now 52 and a half and going through menopause with dry skin and eyes and global muscle pain. I was of course tested for Sjogren and other autoimmune disorders but

Fever after starting Piqray
Hi all, I'm on day 12 of Piqray, and for the last three nights, I spike a fever exactly 3.5 hours after taking my Piqray dose. My skin hurts, muscles hurt, joints hurt, eyes burn,I can barely move, until I go to bed and I wake up in the morning feeling like nothing happened, everything is back to normal

Small steps on the journey back to NSR
OK, I'm probably going to sound hopelessly optimistic here, but yesterday evening I met my EP Cardiologist who was giving a talk and update on AF and it cheered me up immensely. We hadn't met, but the technician who fitted the monitor told me to "make myself known". So I did. For the first time since

Newbie - confused and needing advice
I'm desperately confused and frightened, and looking for advice. Probably quite a long post coming up (sorry). I'm currently 42 and have been pregnant twice in ten years - once with my first boy naturally after three years TTC and again with my second son following an IVF cycle two years ago. I have

Hello All, I have been diagnosed by my GP as being hypothyroid, possibly autoimmune. I'm reluctant to go on pharma drugs, as I prefer to go down the natural route using iodine and supplements. Has anyone else on here done that? I'm currently reading 'The Iodine Crisis' by Lynne Farrow. 'Overcoming

Autoimmunity
Hi a quick question about autoimmunity. Recent Medichecks blood tests showed the above and came with this comment "Your thyroglobulin antibodies are positive. These antibodies are associated with autoimmune thyroid issues, especially Hashimoto's." I started off overactive c22 years ago then had RAI

Good morning everyone. I saw my cardiologist yesterday as I’m having a new knee next week and for my own peace of mind had an echocardiogram which shows my heart is now as it was before AF and high blood pressure were found 3 years ago. She said this showed my blood pressure tablets and healthier lifestyle

Brief update on my lower Intestinal Tract Capsule Endoscopy.
Just to let you know that the procedure went fine. Although the camera was a little larger than an Omega 3 high strength capsule, I found that with the right mindset I swallowed it easily. The staff were a little disconcerted about my long term steroid use and the possibility of an adrenal crisis and

Pericarditis
I had a pacemaker put in and one of the leads caused leakage. The fluid had to be drained from around my heart and the pacemaker lead corrected. However, now I am experiencing fatique, shortness of breath, feet goes numb. The doctor put me on colchicine but did not tell me I have Pericarditis. Because

Vasepa (icosapent ethyl)
I have been prescribed Vasepa (icosapent ethyl) for several years now to lower my triglycerides and it has worked very well . I also know that it is a specific omega-3 fatty acid EPA and now I'm wondering what effect it may also have on my recently diagnosed fatty liver (S3) & (F3)?
