Hi, are there anyone else who just can’t get on with statins?? Iv tried several different ones and I always end up with my whole body in pain. Iv even been on the injection we’re you inject once a fortnight to no avail.. It’s so bad that I can’t even do my walking.. I have been told to stop them and I feel great again. Although I’m not sure what will happen in the long run 😬😬

Hi Lynn I sympathise as I am also statin intolerant ! You could try Ezetimibe which reduces Cholesterol and isn't a Statin 😊I have had no side effects with it

Fibrates are also used for lipid lowering and they are also not a statin.

Hi I am statin intolerant and also tried Praluent injections. Side effects were horrendous, still suffering and been told the effects will last around 3 months. Nothing left to try apart from continuing exercise and increasing fruit and veg in diet. Bit of a worry if cholesterol creeps up again. Did you have pain after injections?

Yes I had terrible pains with the injection, also brain fog and very agitated.. I was told to stop them. Not sure where I go from here tho .

Hi lynn i was in the as me boat as you. My body would not tolerate statins leg pain, muscles started to deteriorate but the injection worked on me. Even with the injection my cholesterol was still a bit high. I decided to cut meat out of my diet just to see if it made any difference. And it did my consultant was impressed. Have you had a genetic test by anychance?

Yes Iv had the genetic test done. Mines not genetic, I was told I was just very unlucky 😬😬 my cholesterol was down to 5 before I started the injection.
