The right diet for T2 Diabetes with elevated blood cholesterol
I have lived with T2 for five years (genetic caused) which I usually control the conditions with low carb diet with good fat ( extra virgin olive oil, a bit of coconut oil) and full cream diary products. I also eat proteins from both animals and plants especially my favorite dhal. I excercise most days

Do I need to watch intake of daily Calories?.
I am 67 yrs. old male and was diagnosed with diabetes in 1999. 3 months ago I stopped taking Janumet 1000/50 and GlipZIDE 2.5mg but again take it once a while when I cheat in eating Indian/Chinese buffets and sweets. My A1C is 5.6 and weight fluctuates between 137 lbs and lbs.143 for the last 2 months

I did IMRT in 2001, went 10 years with a gradual rising PSA. Then in 2011, with a new biopsy, completed

Non- cirrhotic Portal Hypertension
Hi all, I'm looking for a bit of information. Two years ago I was diagnosed with a rare blood cancer called a Myeloproliferative neoplasm. It means that I produce two many blood cells (platelets) and as a result I got blood clots, one of which was in the Portal vein. Even though I sustained some liver

I'm new here, just got a print out of my blood test results for Thyroid and they also did a Cholesterol tests.
I have an underatcive Thyroid and this was my checkup so asked for the blood results to be printed (thanks to the Thyroid community here). I see they also did Serum lipid level tests and I'm a little concerned on the results although my Doctor did not mention them. I am hoping this is related as since

US vs UK healthcare
Hi all, Noticing that a lot of you are from the US, (#Barnclown )I was wondering how you compared the difference in health care? I lived in the US for many years and although expensive, I found the health care top notch. The main difference for me is A+E or ER. Here, the tendency is to run bloods

More important then LDL and HDL
Hi I am new here and have been struck, looking at the posts, at how dominated people are by their levels of HDL and LDL and of course total cholesterol. This surprises me because their is well documented evidence that other lipid profiles are more predictive than simply looking at LDL. For example you
