Cholesterol and brains
Read an interesting article by 'doctor in the house' GP Rangan Chatterjee. The article was discussing migraines. Apparently CoQ10 is prescribed by more and more neurologists for migraine as it reduces the production of free radicals in the brain. It does make you think that research ought to be carried

Scuba dive for a diabetic!
Hello all, I'm back from my beach holiday and yes I did go for scuba dive, first at 3.5metres depth in lagoon then at 10metres in open sea waters.. my pp blood sugar post dive remained at 125.. feeling great because all the time I was preparing myself to accept that nothing will be same as before diabetes

6 weeks after radiation my PSA is still rising
I finished 33 sessions of IMRT on 3 lymph nodes (the only 3 places where the new PET scan specific for prostate cancer revealed cancer) 6 weeks ago but my PSA is still rising. Radiation oncologist said he was disappointed that my PSA didn't stay the same or go down after that amount of time but that

gps don't seem to understand that I have high cholesterol am not at all overweight and do not eat high fat, processed foods
My cholesterol was 7.2 and I finally lowered it to 4.5 after it kept going up and down. I had to keep explaining to the gp that I was already restricting my diet to control my IBS (the gp referred me to a dietitian to be put on the low fodmap diet for IBS) when I had blood tests done. My cholesterol

Hiccups
I am experiencing hiccups a lot lately; usually when I start to eat. I thought it might be heart related as I can feel my heart flutter often. I take blood pressure medication. My b/p has been about 148/88. I have extremely dry eyes at this time. I want to sleep but I can't. Hoping someone might

Fasting sugar level increasing (Type 1)
My son's age is 17 taking lantus (6-8 units) at bedtime, and novo rapid before taking meals. Many a times, I have seen that if he eats carb snacks(biscuit) at 2:30am (when sugar is around 110), then he gets normal fasting sugar level; but if he doesn't have any such snacks, then the fasting blood sugar
