Update on my disease: <0.1 PSA today
I haven't posted anything since my first post last October. Today is a good day for an update as I just finished radiation therapy and got my latest test result showing a <0.1 PSA! This is down from a high of 345 in early October. My initial biopsy confirmed Gleason 9 (4+5) in two cores and all cores

Why LDL cholesterol goes up on LCHF diet and is it bad for health?
Following LCHF diets raises HDL level, lowers triglyceride, lowers insulin and increases LDL cholesterol. While first three are considered beneficial, there is concern about high level of LDL cholesterol. The presentation below by Dr Nadir Ali, concludes we should celebrate high LDL level because it

Statins
Could anyone give me some advice please? I was put on Atorvastatin three months ago due to my cholesterol being 12.6, a month later a blood test revealed it had gone down to 6.8 & no further action to be taken. It’s suspected to be hereditary as my diet is extremely healthy and I’m not overweight. Is

A little (D)hazed and confused 🙂
It has been a busy week at work with an even busier weekend on call coming up but I still managed to get my 3 runs in this week - a short speed interval run on Monday, a (not so) easy coulee run with hubby on Wednesday (ah yes, I remember what running with hubby is like - one speed - but I ran behind

Life long statin
My LDL as never been high, but discovered that I needed a bypass . My cardiologist says I should remain on statins for life due to the anti inflammatory effects they have., to keep my CRP low . I’m currently taking Lipitor but I believe they maybe a far better statin to have , so my question is which

Hashimotos / Hypothyroidism and Cholesterol - Should I be concerned?
Hi everyone. This community is great, and I'm happy to have found it. Some of you may recall I posted a couple months ago and shared my blood levels. I have been told I'm hypothyroid / Hashimotos (or borderline heading there). Until recently I have not paid too much attention to my cholesterol levels

Problems weaning off Clonidine?
I was prescribed Clonidine for blood pressure spikes at times & eventually advised to take it nightly at bedtime. I’ve tried weaning off it twice because of some of the side effects, and immediately have very high spikes in blood pressure (higher than I ever had prior to adding Clonidine) and headache

Hi everyone ! Im glad to have connected with this community. My lymphedema appeared 22 years ago, It might be primary- I had a couple of cellulitis episodes in my right leg in 1997, not sure if that was the cause or because of weakness in my lymphatics.
