Taking statins while on Pred.
About a week or so ago I reported more aches and stiffness than usual and was putting it down to coming down too quickly off Pred, and a doctor's view that I could 'tough it out' It became so bad I phoned my friendly better doctor who suggested it may be because I had finally started the statin med

Third failed cycle ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
Hi everyone. Got the horrible news today that my 3rd transfer has failed. No implantation once again and no Christmas miracle. To say I'm upset is an understatement. I cant believe the bad luck we've had, we can't even get out of the starting blocks. Only ever had one natural pregnancy in 7 years and

Probiotics anyone?
Morning Peeps 😀 I hope this post finds you as well as can be 🥰 This morning finds me with little to no energy or willpower. I am off work with an awful infection/virus - chesty cough, full of cold and wiped out. I am on my 3rd course of antibiotics, 2nd course of steroids and now a blue inhaler to

Seeking thoughts and experiences on predisone / predisolone with embryo transfer
Hi everyone, I'm looking for any thoughts and experiences you may be able to share on taking the steroids predisone and predisolone as part of your embryo transfer cycle. I'm making preparations to go into FET 3, but a recent immune panel I did revealed my th1 and th2 cytokine levels are high, and that

New GP won't prescribe Tramadol
I am asking this question on behalf of my sister. About 4 weeks ago she and her family changed GP as she could not get an appt or even speak to the Dr. Her husband had been at A&E with a very painful middle finger on her hand. After a lot of bloods X-ray etc because his lactic acid was high they diagnosed

elevated liver enzymes
Does anyone else have experience of raised liver enzymes whilst takin steroids? My recent blood test showed a GGT ( gamma gluts ultrasound transferease) reading of 340. A normal reading should be under 30. It has not been elevated in former blood tests. I am taking 12 mgs defazacort per day. Equivalent

Nudging Adrenals back to life
I have been taking steroids for at least 12 years for PMR and am currently on 8 mg prednisolone. If I go below this pain is bad. My endocrinologist says adrenal glands will not come back to life after this time and I will be on pre for the rest of my life. Can this be true?

Learning to live with PMR
My PMR started with strange stiffness, as if I'd been riding a horse, around the hips and buttocks in April/May 2022. I ignored it as far as possible, trying physio with no success. It was when I did the Dales Way in Yorkshire in June/July that I realised my fatigue, slowness and trouble getting over

Bronchiectasis and use Pulmicort with tooth issues.
Hello, I have Bronchiectasis and use Pulmicort. I cannot do this at the moment due to a temporary filling. Will be in until after Christmas. Worried the force may pop it out when nothing open. I have fragile teeth. Had to stop using my Acapella. Therefore switched to upping my breathing exercises

Tapering advice please.
Brief recap on me. In June this I year had 120mg Depo-medrone injection (for PMR), which was little short of miraculous, from private Rheumy who then wrote to my GP asking her to continue these on NHS. You bang your head against a brick wall at our surgery but I finally had another injection in September

When the drugs don’t work
Hi All, Hope everyone is managing to keep well and warm. My Dad has been diagnosed with COPD for some time now, but our GP Practice has never really managed his condition properly. This has been a particularly bad year for coughs/chest infections and after many courses and antibiotics and steroids,
