Well I had my injections in both my shoulders, the consultant did it. He asked if I had had a letter from him for an ultra scan I said no. Have I had a letter from the physio I said no. He said it's been 5 weeks since I sent the request. So he put the injections in, first freezing cold spray then super freezing cold spray, then steroids shot. I had an anaesthetic in the spray but still felt the pain. It's done now and hopefully in 2 days the pain should lesson, or maybe go. But I feel exhausted and am falling asleep and it's 7 pm. Mind you I have been up since 4 this morning. Take care everyone.

My goodness, no wonder you're falling asleep, I used to get up at 4 am most mornings too when I was working, hope you sleep well tonight. Glad to hear you've had your injections done.
I’m glad you’ve had the injections done. There’s no wonder you’re tired - you’ve had a very long day!
What a trying day you have had. I hope your injections kick in soon and you get s9me relief. Take a tip from me (I tend to learn the hard way)take things really easy with your shoulders - don’t do anything mad. Good luck. x
I’ve had the steroid injections to the shoulder and had relief for a year. I was referred back to physio when I last seen my rheumatologist 7 weeks ago. Heard nothing till yesterday till they phoned offering an appointment for early February. Think most have long waiting lists now. Probably good that you’ve had injections first so you are able to participate in exercises. Fingers crossed, it settles things down for you. I did have to have the ultrasound first so that the inflammation would be visible.
Rest now and recover.xxxx
Take it easy. Rest when you can.
Hi Carolsos, glad you have had the injections, I've had a bad shoulder this year, aswell as the RA the consultant told me it was osteoarthritis, I've had two steroid injections this year, the first my gp did and he froze the shoulder first, the second the consultant did it at the hospital without any freezing, the nurse told me to take a deep breath and keep talking 😁😩 next time I'm going to make sure they freeze it, better still go to my gp 😁 anyway hope your feeling better soon, best wishes Sarah 💕
Aaw feel your pain, I've had a painful shoulder for 3 years & I've had steroid injections a few times which worked brilliantly but, the new NHS consultant said he wanted me to have an ultrasound scan & injection, went in May & they found a small tear in my tendon so wouldn't give me the injection & recommended I see an orthopaedic surgeon. Saw the consultant in June who said he'd refer me, saw him again in August & asked if he knew how long I'd have to wait, checked his computer & he hadn't sent the referral letter 😠 finally have an appointment 9th January & I'm pretty sure they'll say a steroid injection will be fine, in the meantime my left shoulder has started hurting the same as my right 🙄 guessing it felt left out 🤣 the consultant said for me to mention this at my appointment x
Have had no experience w/ injections. Sorry.
