Doctor suggests I come off meds
Diagnosed with sub clinical
thyroiditis
a few years ago. My supportive doctor with some prodding medicated me to what I feel is a decent level. My tsh was below 1 and t4 near the top of the range. I do have swelling in my thyroid as seen under ultrasound.

Endocrinologist - nice, but hopeless
He confirmed I have Hashimoto's (although he said Autoimmune
Thyroiditis
) and hypothyroidism. He's happy that my dose (50mcg) is right as I've seen an improvement in symptoms and my blood tests were "normal" (based on his review of my TSH (only) being at 4.77 miu/l (0.49-5.23) 🤦‍♀️.

High serum gastrin levels
I also have Hashimoto’s
thyroiditis
and type 2 diabetes, breast Ca. I have 6 monthly blood tests including vitamins and minerals which only through these forums have I realised also need to be optimum as well as taking conventional medicine to feel well.

Rapid weight loss.
My question is, is it possible for Hashimotos
thyroiditis
to make the body go from hypothyroid to hyperthyroidism or it it more likely to be some other much more serious condition like cancer, that's causing the weight loss. Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated.

Hair thinning and Hypothyroidism
My TSH has not budged in 4 years from 2.02 to 2.04 (range 0.27 to 4.2) I believe this is where the pituitary isn't signalling for the Thyroid to produce more, is it called Tertiary
thyroiditis
? Thanks in advance for any informationwhich is greatly appreciated from you lovely members.

Covid booster and subacute thyroiditis
A quick google shows quite a number of published papers on subacute
thyroiditis
in response to the covid (and sometimes flu) vaccine and my symptoms and timescale from the booster match. The GP has referred me for more tests so no diagnosis yet.

Levothyroxine dose change
I can feel pressure in my neck also which I had when subacute
Thyroiditis
started . So I'm wondering if this was too big change. What are your thoughts? I started the new dose on 12/01/22 and have another test booked for 15/02

Endocrinologist
He had all information with my history of
thyroiditis
after surgery Also all my thyroid tests were put in an excel form for ease. He insisted in doing further tests which was ok to rule out other causes of my many symptoms The tests came back ok.

Natural Desiccated Thyroid (NDT) - how long does it take to work?
Hello Recently it was confirmed I have Hashimoto’s
thyroiditis
, undiagnosed for a long time, my fault I never sought help until I could no longer function! 3 weeks ago I started NDT (Armour), I had previously been on Levothyroxine for 6 months but my symptoms persisted.

Levothyroxine making me tired and cold. Why?
I was diagnosed w postpartum
thyroiditis
after my third child in summer 2021. They thought it would go away but it’s not. It’s gotten worse and now the doc put me on levothyroxine 100mcg. This is my first week taking it and It’s making me really tired and cold.

Interesting paper on alternating hyper- and hypo-thyroidism
The paper mentions that 10-20% of patients with autoimmune
thyroiditis
have TSH receptor antibodies (TRAb). Reference 5 gives a link to a paper giving more details on how this can happen, I printed it off and then chickened out! Don't have time to read it.

Effects of low normal T3.
I had viral
Thyroiditis
on 2017 (not autoinmune) and could never recover. 2. After that, I spent 3 years with a TSH between 4 and 8 (my normal value was always 2). My free t3 was 2,8 (2-4,2). My total t3 20 years ago (when I was healthy) was at top range. 3.

Relief from RLS on a low oxalate/salicylate eating plan.
I am not a stranger to elimination diets as I have Hashimoto's
Thyroiditis
and had established an eating plan that was successfully keeping it under control.

Symptoms even on Levo
My history is sudden Subacute
Thyroiditis
post Covid19 in 2020 This left me with slight underactive thyroid hence why the Levo. Seems like I'm on the optimal dose now since smaller isn't working and higher dose just gave me hypo.

Hyperthyroidism or Hypothyroidism?
So this indicates that I have Hashimoto
Thyroiditis
but this seems to be opposite to what the first blood tests indicated? Do I have Hyperthyroidism or Hypothyroidism? Thanks!

Are the risks of stroke or atrial fibrillation real?
She has got Hashimoto's
thyroiditis
as you know. Currently she is on thyroxine 0.125 of a milligram and T3 10µg three times a day. This is more than she needs as judged by her thyroid function tests. However she does feel well on this dose and would prefer all being equal to continue with it.
