GCA meds
Having followed a recent link to the Patient info site, I read that they seem all in favour of aspirin and adding omeprazole to counteract the side effects of the pred and aspirin combination. Some months ago, I read on this site that aspirin is not necessarily necessary and therefore, neither is omeprazole

Hi I'm Lesley, 57 years old and in January this year I spent a couple of days in hospital after a suspected small heart attack. I had an angiogram which revealed that my arteries were fine so did not need a stent. I'm still waiting to find out what exactly is wrong - latest is the result of an MRI scan

Coping methods - Reynaud's and Erythromelalgia?
I've had Reynaud's as long as I can remember, since a young girl. Last year I started getting incredible burning, itching, pain with red swelling in my feet whenever they were exposed to warmth. I'd never really liked wearing shoes, but it got downright painful. No blankets over my feet. No socks

Review My Af Status
I have now been in continuous af since at least 2008. I consider it to be regularly irregular! I have had one cardioversion which failed after six days and no ablations. I had a single bypass and a replacement aortic valve in 2015 at the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital which can only be described

Vibration in chest
Hi I'm new here and I'm thankful I found this site! I am having a strange sensation in my chest and I'm wondering if the 112mcg dose of Levothyroxin is too much for me or if it's not enough. I don't even know how to describe it but it's very disconcerting, very uncomfortable. Like a buzzing or vibration

Levodopa and my wife's b/p tab interact synergistically :)
I struggle within our home, that is looking more like a nursing environment, as the sole caregiver for my dear spouse. She is afflicted with multiple sclerosis. Caring for her is physically and emotionally stressful, which effects my b/p. This post is to inform of a happy discovery that may benefit those

Felodipine and EM?
Have been given Felodipine to help lessen the chilblains I've developed on my toes as well as the Reynaud's. Wondering, though, if anyone has had experience with it with EM? Will try it, but little concerned (granted, I am not a doc, just don't want flares worse!) as it's supposed to make the blood

How can I prevent an ulcer developing?
Hi all, I have CREST and have had Raynaud's for about 8 years now. I have had ulcers on my lower legs, and one on my index finger tip (excruciating when it was developing, much worse than on the legs). The finger one has almost healed (had it for nearly 5 months), but is still producing some discharge

Is it the Amlodipine
I have been having some terrible feeling heart issues and think it's the Amlodipine. I notice when I take it my heart has this tense feeling and when I am lying down I'll notice that my heart gives a loud thump and actually hard enough to sometime shake my whole body. I was on 2.5mg now on 5mg but found

What "should" I be feeling like?
I've had GCA for 3 years now and my prednisolone dose is down to 5mg. I had thought that by now I would be feeling a lot closer to "normal" than I actually am. I still feel extreme exhaustion, like being completely drained of energy, not really tired. Also as if I have permanent flu. I have very bad

Confused about meds. Help pls?
Confused about meds. Hi I have Paryx AF, and am taking Pradaxa and bisoprolol, now it seems I may have angina too😬😬 I have been prescribed with Amlodipine but one the side effects it mentions for this drug is irregular heartbeat? It seems this one might be working against the other two? I'm confused

ED problems
I'm 47 years old and lost my wife slightly younger wife 18 months ago to cancer. In the last 6 or 7 years during her illness sex was very infrequent, and I both our libido's dropped, due to lifestyle and illness pressures. I'm now engaging in sexual relations but finding it difficult to maintain erections

Amlodipine for Raynauds
I have seen a rheumatologist who is doing blood works to investigate the cause of raynauds. he has prescribed me Amlodipine at 2.5mg for the raynauds. I am a bit concerned with talking this, as I understand it is a blood pressure med, I have normal blood pressure at the moment, but all my life have always
