Vocal chord damage in thyroidectomy
Hi all, I had a total Thyroidectomy 2 days ago which was a difficult op. My thyroid had grown so large it was pressing on my larynx, growing downwards to my chest, and growing round the back of my oesophagus. In previous surgery for breast cancer 2 years ago they were unable to get the breathing tube

red light therapy
Hi I have been looking into the benefits of red light therapy for muscle issues and wondered if anyone had tried this - I can’t see any contradictions with hydroxi and will be mainly using this on my neck , upper back and thyroid areas - I know this won’t help ET as such but using for other issues.

As of my last update in January 2022, several immunotherapy drugs have been studied or are currently being investigated for the treatment of prostate cancer. Here are some of the notable ones: Sipuleucel-T (Provenge): Sipuleucel-T is an autologous cellular immunotherapy approved for the treatment

Oxygen therapy
I have been referred for this and told I would get a visit at home. Just had first chest infection and inpatient stay, 3 days. Antibiotics worked super well, plus excellent ambulance crew. What is involved with oxygen at home, is it a small mobile cylinder? Do I take it everywhere. How does it work

His swallow isn't as strong as it should be and ENT and speech therapist tried him with cuff down on the tracheotomy and holding over the opening, but he could only breathe in but not out. I think I was slightly too hyper but 3 weeks later and I feel terrible - weight gain, constipation, no apetite. I don’t think

Nice to be here
I have just been diagnosed with severe chronic pancreatitis. I am really scared, even though I've had bad symptoms for some time. I'm on enzyme therapy and recently had to increase the dose. Would like to talk to people that have had experience with this. Thank you and I look forward to meeting you

Speech production technology
Has anyone tried speech production technology, such as Stephen Hawking used, for PSP patients? Was it successful or not? Our speech therapist is asking us to consider it since we cannot understand my husband any more. Thanks

NDT vs T4 T3 combination therapy
Hello everyone. Please share your experience NDT vs combination therapy. Currently I am on combo but still have symptoms (I have no thyroid). I am doing better on combo than on T4 only. I want to try NDT and see if it will make me feel better. Since both of them mainly contain T4 T3 may I expect significant

CRISPR 13 (what? you thought I abandoned CRISPR?): very promising proof of concept - Targeting HOXB13 in mPCa by CRISPR/Cas13d- nanoparticle
And people thought it was undruggable....they have already filed for a patent 😲 Researchers developed nanoparticles that can deliver a special type of gene therapy directly to cancer cells in the liver. This system uses a CRISPR technology, not to edit DNA, but to block the RNA of the HOXB13 protein
