Spatone Liquid Iron
Wondering if anyone has tried Spatone to give their iron levels a boost? Can you take it with Pred? Am on 12.5 at the moment. I know the Ferrous Sulphate will be a lot stronger but don’t like the side effects, Spatone seems to get a lot of good reviews, find it difficult to make decisions these days

Aneamia & Ferrous Sulphate
When I became aneamic,I was told to eat iron-rich foods and bloods will be tested again after a month. My own GP is on holiday and I saw a different one this week to ask for a new prescription for Pred. He also gave me a prescription for Ferrous Sulphate 200mg twice daily. I am not sure whether to take

Severe rash spread all over my back and shoulders
Has anyone else experienced this, two days ago my back started itching and then the rash grew and spread all over and creating over my shoulders, it is covered in red welts and is driving me crazy! On Tuesday I had a hot bath with Epsom salts and lavender oil as I've been so stressed out lately, on Wednesday

2 year old with pneumonia and potentially asthma?
Hi, I'm new here and a mummy to a two-year-old girl who has just been discharged from hdu following a very severe episode - high work of breathing that didn't respond to salbutamol nebs or oxygen on the mask. In the end she turned around slowly with the help of airvo and magnesium sulphate. She was diagnosed

Iron Deficiency May Predict Greater Risk for Hypothyroxinemia: A Retrospective Cohort Study of Pregnant Women in China
One of the parts of the thyroid jigsaw that is most often repeated here is the importance of iron levels. Here, in the context of pregnancy, another paper highlighting the importance of adequate iron. Yet, most of the time, we hear of standard treatment being ferrous sulphate - and the difficulty people

Feeling awfully hypo
Hello. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's last April, on 50mcg of Synthroid (levothyroxine). I should be on a higher dosage but can not tolerate it. When I was first diagnosed they had me on 100mcg and I was over medicated. My tsh dropped from 15 to 0.8 in one month and I ended up at the hospital with

On the IC!!
Well, yesterday I posted I’d done my week 4 5k and would be going for a walk round Dartmoor National Park. The walk started off really well, beautiful day, lovely location, packed out and we only just managed to park but it was lovely and cool under the trees. We decided to do the 4 mile round trip.

Weird chest infections- anyone else? How long do they last?
Anyone else get odd chest infections that don't have any of the typical symptoms other than setting off asthma? Had a bit of a farce in A and E on Saturday after 4 days of asthma getting worse. They said it wasn't asthma (because I don't present typically) but freaked out over the high HR I get with

Low iron levels and egg quality
So I started stimming a week ago, it looks like my egg collection will be mid next week. I already had low iron levels and have been on tablets for over a month as my levels were at 20% (I think they should be at 40 or 50%). I've been taking one tablet twice a day of 200mg ferrous sulfate. But last

The St Thomas Hospital Transcobalamin testing service
Hello, Has anyone on this forum had experience for the transcobalamin testing service offered at St Thomas Hospital? I am to understand that it requires a GP referral letter to get an appointment but the patient only pays a £15+vat private blood-drawing charge? Have I got this right from the literature

Week 8 completed!! Week 9 I can’t wait!!!
Well what a strange week!! Did my 2nd run on Sunday with no problems then had my sore foot while out for a stroll with my son that evening. It felt like I was walking in a large pebble every step. I really thought I was going to be out of action for a while. I soaked it in Epsom salts, rubbed Voltarol

RLS Help, no drugs
When I first developed RLS 10 years ago I got rid of it by limiting saturate fat in my diet and completely cutting out gluten. Gluten was the big trouble-maker (I made repeated attempts to check this out, it all confirmed it). However, I developed it again in a big way when I cut dairy out of my diet

MIGRAINE SUMMIT Notes - NON MEDICINAL TREATMENTS
ROBERT COWAN - NATURAL TREATMENTS. FROM THE CURRENT MIGRAINE SUMMIT. CONTINUES TODAY https://www.migraineworldsummit.com I thought these notes from his talk were interesting for people to see. He talked about non-medical treatments, a really interesting chat for those of us who don't want to swallow

Chronic aches & pains
My question is can boosting minerals & vitamins enhance levo uptake and absorption? When originally diagnosed 21yrs ago and put on 100mg levo I had joint pain. 15/11/17 my TSH was 10.7 and on 75mg levo this was increased to 100mg 11/1 /18 retested TSH was 0.37 since then I have been taking supplements

Epsom salts for pain relief...?
Hi all, I’m really suffering today. I woke up at 5:30 with my usual unbearable period pains. Had a hot bath, refilled my hot water bottle about 10 times and took some naproxen but I’m still in a lot of pain. I have my first internal scan on Tuesday with a gynaecologist that specialises in Endometriosis
