Should I be worried?
Back in Sept 2011 my gp referred me to gyne, I've had 2 ultra sound scans, blood tests, internal examination, swab. My main symptoms were pelvic/back pain, dysmenorrea, menorrea, and my cycle was roughly every 3 months. I was told that I have a dermoid cyst ( mature teratoma) and its structure doesn't

How worried should I be?
At the beginning of January I had a positive pregnancy test, quite a surprise as hubby had vasectomy 20 years ago and no problems til now. I started bleeding 2 days later and when I eventually had app at EPU there test was negative so they refused to scan me. I am and on reflection have been suffering

Thanks to all who have given me support and kind words. On Thursday 2nd Feb I had my Diagnostic laparascopy and ovarian cystectomy. Before I went to theatre my surgeon discussed things and said there would be a possibility of removing my effected ovary and that once they have a look they will know what

I know the title don't make sense....welcome to my world. In my own little way I do make sense of my world, but in a very different way to many other folk. I went to see a psychologist a few years ago and walked in and when he asked what I was doing there I said I didn't know! How apt,

Hi my name is Hanna. Our journey starts with me meeting a wonderful man who had a vasectomy 8 years before meeting me. He is 12 years my senior. After falling for one another we had the vasectomy reversed but to no avail. We went on to then have our first and second round of ICSI fertility

How to Train Your Doctor
How to Train Your Doctor By Catherine Guthrie Oprah.com | December 01, 2007 It may scare you to realize this—but you, and not your doctors, are in charge of your medical care. They're not gods, and you're not a wuss. Got that? O shows how to fight (nicely) for the best possible treatment. Having

Appointment with my consultant at the hospital in Newcastle yesterday. Results of bone & CT scans. Tumours have appeared in my left shoulder, spine & several places in my Liver. I had a bit of warning about the Liver, but the bone was out of the blue. Explains the shoulder/back pain at least. Consultant

I haven't had cancer. My wife has. Breast cancer, about 9-10 years ago. A mastectomy, some glands taken out from her armpit (just in case it tried to spread) and a lot of rest then she was told she'd got the all clear after possibly 5 years. We didn't dwell too much on these things. Example, having the
