Hi Louebiou23

Can I ask what the steroid injection was for? I'm having them in that muscle for a form of sciatica and my last one was painful and I had a good bruise. It did settle and gave me good relief so I hope it does for you. Happy Xmas x

It was for my arthritis pain i think but my rheumatologist didn't really explain, she said it would be a good test for confirming lupus too. How long was yours sore for? Mine is sending aching pains down my leg x

Hi loubie

I always end up with an achy/sore feeling in the area where i have my steriod injection. it usually settles down after a week. its a like the muscles have been bruised due to injection - its completely normal love so try not to worry. plus when u have your injection make sure they alternate the side they use for the injection - its a must. steriod injections can cause muscle deterioration after years of use. dont worry it will settle dowb hun.

Lupie hugs

I get that too, it does fade within a few days and the lump disappears too

I had steroid injections in my knees a few months ago & they hurt for a good few days almost like really bad bruises so I think it's normal. Try not to worry but if it continues after a week or so speak to your gp as very few people can get an infection in the affected area. X

Yes, frequently. It just depends who's giving the injection and how good they are at doing so. The best are rheumatology ward sisters IME ... the worst are Doctors, lol. Nothing to worry about, although it can feel painful for a while.

Thanks guys :) lets hope it works eh! How long do they take to work generally? X

Hi. They say normally a few days, but realistically 1-2 weeks. And usually they will only give roughly 3-4 injections per year depending on the dosage. Fingers crossed u have some relief soon hun. lupie hugs esky x
