As one year ends a new one will begin...........

Hi all, hope you had a relatively pain free Christmas.

As 2013 draws to an end, I am thinking thank goodness that year is over :( Purely because of the pain I have suffered on a daily basis. I am still on oral steroids (pred) and have not been able to reduce from 15mg for the past 6 months. I have been on MTX since diagnosis and 4 months ago changed to injection form. I have been assessed twice to qualify for Humira but still awaiting the delivery of it. On Christmas eve I got the chance to go to my local rheumy clinic and have a depo injection (steroid) it started to kick in on Friday and I have had a pain free weekend. Well ok maybe not pain free but I almost felt normal again. So today I decided to drop the pred down to 13mg, I know we only do 1mg at a time but I have got the steroid injection to keep me going hopefully. My left hand is usually twice the size of my right but last night I showed my hubby that it has now gone down to normal and I can move my fingers.

A steroid injection usually lasts me about 4 weeks so I will be looking forward to having a little fun over the next 3 weeks lol.

Next week I am having a few friends around who home educate the same as me and for once I am looking forward to it as hopefully I can be the great host instead of letting others do everything :)

So, 2014 is almost upon us. My wish is...................to be pain free and feel complete again. Clutching at straws I know but I can dream. Hopefully my new med will arrive soon and more importantly WORK as the MTX doesn't.

So I will hold a virtual glass up and wish you all a Very Happy New Year. xxx

Happy New Year to you too Sue.

2013 won't go down as my finest year either but it's been a learning curve so maybe that will help make 2014 better. I do hope your wishes come true for you. xx
