Morning everyone, I’m still in Af this morning, not too bad. Feel a bit sick. Now I have Trochanteric Pain Syndrome and sciatica, am in awful pain a lot of the time, but always in pain. Struggle to get in or out of bed and sitting in a chair. Now I am booked for a cortisone injection on the 22nd and X-ray on the 10th. Just reading that cortisone can start AF off in new patients. Is there a chance it could start my AF off? I know I have got to stop my blood thinner for a day before injection. Anyone else had one? Thanks.

Steroid injection
I’ve had several steroid injections, no effect on Af but equally no effect on the pain.
I’ve had a couple of cortisone injections in the past 12 months. They didn’t cause AF but they did increase my ectopics.
I found relief from sciatica by sitting on an electric heat pad. Someone explained to me once that the glutes (muscles) in your bottom tighten and trap the sciatic nerve in a scissor like movement. Applying heat relaxes those muscles and they let go of the nerve, which apparently is the largest sized nerve in the body. They likened it to the size of your little finger. Anyway whether they were right or not I've found that method can work well and quickly.
I've had that and it's damn painful. I had an injection last August and two steroid injections in my knee in December and last month. Absolutely no problem and the radiologist was happy for me to still take Apixaban
Hi there, I must admit I am not looking forward to it. I am not very good AT ALL with injections. All the Covid ones I know weren’t painful but the third one I jumped and the nurse said I haven’t given it to you yet, what a fool I felt. I shall hang onto the bed and whince, will let you know how I get on. We’re you able to walk ok after? X
Absolutely. Once the LA goes in then you don't feel the injection and yes I even drove after although you're not supposed too for insurance reasons!
