I am sure that this lovely community will know the answer to my question if anybody does.
Can you get any non steroid based pain injections for joint and back pain on the NHS?
If so , do you know what they are called , and where you need to get referred for them?
If there aren't any within the NHS , has anybody had them privately , and were they successful?
I have Chronic Pain from various conditions , including Ehlers Danlos Syndrome , and steroid injections or medications can make my joints more unstable even if it helps pain.
I do not respond to local anaesthetic injections because of the same condition so these aren't a worthwhile option either.
I would love to hear your experience , and get any information you can give me
Take care , and I hope you have a " good" pain day , Bee

Yes, there are some non steroidal injections, but I'm not aware that they're usually available on the NHS. I too avoid steroid injections like the plague.
The following 'may' be of interest, but it's mainly about osteoarthrosis (which I have due to hEDS), whether it would be helpful with our connective tissue problems, I'm sorry I have no idea. Please see: atlasphysiotherapy.co.uk/jo... However, altho it's stated that they're not commonly used in the NHS, I'd think to discuss non steroidal injections with your GP.
The NHS site does say that NSAIDs are available as an injection: nhs.uk/conditions/nsaids/ & I'm sorry that I can't provide any link for this, but I read years ago that NSAIDs often don't help with those with EDS, but that was taken orally.
Thanks so much for that , it's brilliant , I've been trying find some useful links for my search for ages.Yes , the pain relief I get from NSAIDs isn't as good as it would be because of the EDS , but if it can do 50% of what it should it could just make things easier to do.
