Which is best?
I wonder if anyone with GCT (granulosa cell tumour) would mind saying which treatment has worked best for them so far. For me, Exemestane has been the best of the hormone treatments I have tried, (have tried Arimidex, Tamoxifen & Zoladex too). In chemo, I've had Carboplatin, weekly Taxol, & Caelyx,

Latest meds.
Sotalol side effects are killing me. I was on Bisoprolol but they put me on sotalol after a 16 hour AF attack. I have had many episodes of full blown Paroxsysmal AF for years now but lately it has morphed into a less aggressive mode. It is more of a continuous Arrythmia where I get one or two ‘good’

A happy note
My gyn/enc actually used the words "cancer free" to me on Friday! Being stage 3C I know it can be temporary but what wonderful words to hear. I started out being misdiagnosed with "allergies" by a sub-GP (and yes, take that two ways lol) . Soon after, my regular doctor returned and immediately

Neuropathy - how did you deal with it?
Many of us experience neuropathy especially during our first line treatment of carboplatin and taxol. I started this thread to collect ideas about how each of you dealt with it - what worked and what didn’t work for you. Like so many other things what worked for one person may or may not work for others

Hello, I'm liese, I had ovarian cancer 2004, stage 2A, CA125 6000 before hysterectomy, I then took 6 doses of carboplatin and taxol every 3 weeks. 6 months or so later CA125 elevated so I was given another 3 of the same, dose 2, I became allergic to the carboplatin, felt really weird...As we all know

Hair stopped falling out !
Funny question I suppose. My hair ....or at least about 80 % of it came out in handfuls between the 3rd and 4th cycles of weekly Taxol. Now it seems to have completely stopped ...and in my imagination has started growing again. I still have eyebrows and eyelashes. Has anyone else had this happen ? I'm

Daily vs PIP dosing
I was diagnosed 2 yr ago with a fib, put on sotalol by local cardiologist. After 4 mo of complaining about sotalol, finally sought second opinion and saw EP. He took me off sotalol and gave me flecainide/ metoprolol as PIP. This worked great, only 4 short episodes (2-3 hr) in 2 yr untillast week. I had

Waiting for a follow up appt
I was admitted via GPappt/ambulance to Derriford Hosp November 2017 having been in AF for a couple of days. Self regulated back to NSR after a further 2 days (Thursday), but had I not, ablation was scheduled for the following day Friday, whilst I was still an inpatient. Previous drugs Digoxin, bisoprolol

Yep, you can have no obvious lesions on a CT scan and still need chemo! "Encasement of the bowel and its mesentery by Carcinometistasis" is the issue for me. It seems the seeding is so extensive it is almost paralysing my bowel so my oncologist says 2nd line chemo may reduce it. He also said that it

Side effects from Eliquis
I am new to the group. I was diagnosed with stage 4 MBC in 8/17 after 10 years of being cancer free following diagnosis of breast cancer Ductal institute stage 0. I have been healthy and they found it in my eye on routine eye exam. I have no mass on mammogram and there are different opinions as to if

Fasting mimicking diet during chemo - its controversial..
Dear All. Having just completed 1st round of Carbo-Taxol me and my husband are mad about recent research and improvements we can make to reduce my likelihood of relapse after adjuvant chemotherapy. So, the boxes are ticked for alkaline diet, home made kefir, kombucha, matcha and trying to meditate (

Bevacizumab/Avastin. Anyone on this long term?
Hi All, Just joined. Had ppc stage 3c/4 diagnosed Nov 2016. Finished Carbo, Taxol with Bevacizumab May/June 2017. Continued with Bevacizumab and was reviewed last week, number 14. Levels are steady but was told the body needs to rest and recover hence stopping at 18. There was reference to funding also

Hair today. Gone tomorrow
Hello everyone. I am on a 12 week course of Taxol. I finished my 3rd treatment yesterday. I woke up last night shedding hair all over my pillow and today I have been moulting like a Cat. How long will take for it all to go.....and will it speed up a bit ? This is the part of chemo I've been dreading.
