A happy note

My gyn/enc actually used the words "cancer free" to me on Friday! Being stage 3C I know it can be temporary but what wonderful words to hear.

I started out being misdiagnosed with "allergies" by a sub-GP (and yes, take that two ways lol) . Soon after, my regular doctor returned and immediately sent me for a CT scan. Not only Ovarian cancer, but two pulmonary embolisms as well. A 20 pound tumor removed and later a totally unrelated internal bleed emergency surgery, and a severe anaphylaxis shock to literally 2 drops of Taxol on my first chemo session made me wonder about my future.

I'm still weak, still have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia (going on 30 years now), and still having visual disturbances. We just got snow the last two days again. Good ol' Minnesota weather, but I am ready for spring and looking forward to a summer without cancer and chemo.

Luck, healing and healthful wishes to all of you wonderful women. Your support has been and is very appreciated!

Thank you. I saw that too. It's sometimes difficult to feel happy for ourselves when others are struggling. But that's what gives us hope.

What great news to hear! About 19 years ago, I had the same news as you have had and felt just as you did but somehow in the back of my mind was waiting for the other shoe to drop. As you can see, I am still here and still cancer free after a Stage 4 diagnosis along with massive pulmonary embolisms. I was so very lucky and have remained cancer free since finishing treatment back in 1999. So, hold onto that feeling of happiness and enjoy every single minute.

Have a lunch date with my sister on Thursday. Then pizza and a movie at a friend's house in the evening. Haven't seen either of them for months. Silly chemo brain fog still hanging on though.... I scheduled them both for the same date!

Our snow has disappeared now, we've got the wind, showers and sunshine. Just wish it was a bit warmer. xx
