HiA year ago I elected to try Entresto and was on a baby dose for 6 months and then up to usual starting dose. The Registrar added in Dapa and reduced my beta blocker to help my low bp and keep me upright. I'm on 320mg of furosemide daily too. Everything is a bit struggly now.
Struggling with low bp and wondering if anyone on here went back to the ACe inhibitor 'ok' as can't remember feeling quite so patchy, aching and unstable on them. My echo remains the same on Entresto and whereas I'm v happy it's a wonder drug for many I have had so many side effects pergaps given my high furo. My potassium has also been more unstable.
Just summing up courage to contact the Consultant....
Thankyou for insights. Also Perindopril or Enalapril? X

Glad it was good. As if by magic I came home to a revised apptmt at the Freeman for Oct not 2024 so GP must have been in touch as they said they would. X
Hi Penoir53, Have no experience of entresto..was discharged on 22nd July diagnosed with HF and related issues.EF at that time was 20 % and heart rate running constantly high and fluctuating.Cardiologist stopped the furosimide( thankfully!) and now taking spironolactone, dapaglaflozin, bumetanide(replaced the furosemide and lower dose),apixaban, carvedilol 25mg x 2daily,and enalapril.Recent MRI showed EF up to 35 % and tests show heart rate at 66 ( from 90) and normal BP.Increasing daily excercise steadily and feeling much less tired each day.so far so good but a way to go. CAT scan coming up will show if any further changes/improvements.Have since found out I have Bicuspid Aortic Valve disease ..a congenital defect compounded by a leaking valve. Have a feeling am heading towards replacement surgery at some stage in not too distant future.Good luck with your treatments and hope things imrove for you.
NB.My own GP who has been very helpful throughout thinks that I have been prescribed " the best of everything "..lol...her words.
Thank you so much. That is a scary but improving journey. Hoping you are feeling better too. As you'll see on here often the numbers can stay the same and us feel better with drug twiddles. I've been at 35 perc for most of my journey but walk 10k steps daily and take the drugs willingly. We've got a lot of living to do. Thanks for your insight. I was really stable on perindopril and my echo is good on this new one but my side effects a bit eurggh. But side effects also feel like heart probs. Let's keep going....Here's to improving or stable things going forward...x
HI,your welcome.Yes we do have a lot of living to do and with careful lifestyle considerations and as you put it so well " drug twiddling "the future is bright.I too have side effects at times altho nothing i would say were overly concerning.I have no idea what to blame for the side effects as am taking that many tablets daily it could be any or all..lol
Entresto can be rough for sides. Took me 2 years to get used to the middle dose as the aniexity,. Foggy feeling and dizzy was bad. Even low back pain and hip pain was bad. Not sure if my recent back pain is related but it's been severe to the point I couldn't walk. But the Entresto sides seem to have settled at the mid dose now. Ef settled at 35%
I did always think entresto was the only thing giving me symptoms..the HF didn't seem to give me any...only when I took the tablet.
It's not just me then...joints, shoulders...you name it. We persevere. Thkyou for replying and take care. Will see what my Oct apptmt brings...dangling carrots and maybes...😁😉 xx
Thankyou for asking. I'm due to see the Cardio on 11 October. Low bp isn't going to change I don't think but Cardio wants me to try to start reducing furosemide in advance of apptmt with my gp to stabilise potassium. We trot on (sorry drag ourselves forward with a grimace😂). No real effects on my daily behaviours whichis good just grumpy with it all. 😆 thanks for asking. How are you?
