I was diagnosed with CHF 2 months ago & waiting to see the cardiologist. At present I’m only on furosemide. Last few weeks I have a really bad taste in my mouth & pretty much all foods taste vile. is this normal?

I had open heart surgery last year. Everything tasted weird for the first few months. Changing from ramapril to candesarten helped but some things still tasted bitter. It just got back to normal over a period of time. Probably at least 6 months. I also had terrible diarrhea with the lanzoprazole, so it was stopped. They haven't given me any replacement but I haven't developed any issues with my guts so I think it was probably unnecessary anyway
Hi I’m on heart failure meds and I can’t taste anything and it’s been like that for years. I can taste curries but they affect my stomach, and they remove my tastebuds even more, so I give up and eat to survive 😄 not for taste.
I was on furosemide for 10 years but never had any problem like that.
