Increased symptoms as meds increased?
I was diagnosed with LV failure earlier this year (EF 35%). Over the last 6 months or so, I've been weaned onto the standard meds - 5mg bisoprolol (bd), 94mg Entresto (bd), dapaglyflozin and eplerinone. A week ago, I started on furosemide 20mg. However, although my BP and heart rate have come back into

SWOLLEN ANKLES WITH LUNG CONDITION
Hi, This is my first post on here I think. Almost a year ago I was in hospital as I couldn't breath, felt like I was suffocating. I'd had a chest x-ray 6 months previous and was told my lungs were quite normal and my dr couldn't find a reason for my breathlessness. It did improve for a while, but came

SURPRISE SURPRISE GENTLEMEN
Add Lanzaprole - a medication taken to combat excessive acid damage to the lining of the stomach, then add Spironolactone, used to treat high blood pressure and heart failure in the form of a water tablet and finally Furosemide, yet another "water tablet" bringing up the rear of this modest collection

Impaired Right Ventricular function – experiences please
Hi everyone. I was diagnosed with a large hole in my heart last December, at which point my right heart was stretched out of shape. It was a massive shock as I had no symptoms. The doctor who gave me the diagnosis said that once I had the hole closed, hopefully the heart would return to normal. Fast

Hello again. Questions with AF medications
Hi. Need to ask this question on current medications. Furosemide (water pill) 40 mg. once per day. Metoprolol (heart pill) 75 mg. twice a day. And Xarelto (blood thinner) 20 mg. once per day. Has anyone experienced any type of anxiety while on these types of AF medications? I occasionally suffer

High number of medications
I take 14 medications for heart failure, diabetes 2, GCA, High blood pressure, COPD and a CRT-D fitted. Yet I feel worn out and depressed. My legs are weak and losing muscle tone, my blood pressure crashes when I take my medication.I hardly go out now. Each department has this competition to change or

Blood Pressure Disaster - Part Deux
The saga continues. So finally my Primary Care doctor is back from vacation and I snag an appointment. My blood pressure since the change in medication has been high and my nephrologist just keeps upping the doses. I was at 150 mg of Metoprolol (is that a record?), 320 mg of Valsartan and 20 mg of

Hello
Hi. So glad for this site. Newly diagnosed with a-fib, along with heart failure (diastolic). Walked into the emergency room here at local hospital Nov. 5th., thinking that I had a possible DVT because of on-going left leg swelling, after blood test and x-rays told I had a-fib which was the reason for

hi saw my heart nurse today - my heart rate was 50 - she said no wonder I’m feeling tired Told her I was getting very bloated and take a furosemide to get rid of fluid - anyone else have this happen She said don’t wait to bloat but take one every few days She also said to halve the beta blocker

steroids and diuretics
we may need to discuss some diuretics with the GP. Mum is currently receiving some respite care and her legs are becoming swollen….they’re not as good as insisting on the elevation as I do at home. I notice there’s a bit of a flag with prednisolone and furosemide due to potassium issues. Has anyone

Blood pressure……need advice.
I have Heart failure and take Carvedilol, Dapagliflozin, Entresto (replaced Ramipril) and Spironolactone. Consequently my bp has dropped very low as required. (102/70) Yesterday and today it has gone up to Around 126/ 80 + Why would that happen ? On same doses and not doing anything differently

Hypo type episode on Dapaglaflozin/Forxiga, and Spironolactone, while waiting for a pacemaker upgrade. Advice anyone?
I felt sweaty and shaky after skipping breakfast this morning, and looking at the leaflet for Dapaglaflozin, I see one of the side effects is to cause low blood sugar levels. It's a diabetes drug which has been found to help with Heart Failure patients. It makes you pee away blood sugar. So I ate some

Confused about Statins
I'm probably just ignorant re- the benefits of Statins, but, I'm a bit confused following an appt with GP practice Pharmacist. I received a text saying they'd like to discuss my Cholesterol and a medicine for improving my heart and kidney health. I'm still under the care of the Heart Failure Team, so

So I saw Transplant consultant last month and he said I probably won’t live 5 years without a transplant. I went back yesterday as follow up as they are now seeing me monthly, and we’ll I was totally surprised
