Update on bloods - retested
Hi all I had my bloods done again through Medichecks as the GP refused to re-test. Endo agreed that the GP's FT4 result was utter rubbish. Results as follows: CRP <0.3 (range 0 - 5) Ferritin 112.0ug/L (range 13 - 150) Folate Serum 18.74ug/L (range 13 - 150) Vit B12 - Active >150 (range 37.5 - 188)

How do you manage?
Living w/chronic pain most of my life. Opioids don't work for me, spinal cord stimulator helps. Exercise + mindfulness help also. I have use of a pool twice-weekly but must use rollator to help me walk. Pain care is mostly private and restricted in ROI, so very expensive! What access do you have to help

Cortisol blood test
Hi again, please excuse my apparent ignorance, probably brought about due to poor or insufficient advice from the Medical profession. I have two questions: I have been told by my GP to have a Cortisol blood test. The only information given to me is to have it done at 9 am. I asked him if I should stop

Not functioning!
Since my last post, I have been trudging the never ending exhaustion and pain of trying to function as best I can. Now my body has decided enough is enough ... it's getting worse. I have had constant stabbing in my right adrenal (2 courses of antibiotics), CT scan of kidney/adrenals/bladder area, and

I am facing a full spinal fusion mainly due to double Scoliosis with Cobb angles of 38.4 degrees. I had a C2 through T4 fusion in Dec. 2014. Due to the Scoliosis, I am having significantly more general pain, especially in my neck and Sciatica in my right leg hip joint ("electric shocks"). Then radiated

Follow up on leg pain -- Spinal Surgery?
Thanks to all who suggested I see an ortho to rule out spine issues. Turns out that at L4/L5 I have pretty severe spinal stenosis. The ortho thinks surgery is my best option, as other options would give me short lived or incomplete relief. I'm inclined to agree, since I'm still fairly young (64) and

Anterior Spinal Fusion means I can no longer sit upright due to severe pain in my SI Joints/Sit bones. Anyone else had the same happen?
I had a 2 level (L4 /L5 & L5/S1) Posterior Fusion revised in 2017. Plus an additional Anterior Fusion at the same level. Now, 4 years later I am unable to sit upright. Not even in bed. Eating or movement in my lower abdomen also causes a great deal of pain in my SI Joints, groin, and thighs. I'd be

Hello mighty warriors!! Just wondering if anyone who has mets to spine has lost their height?? I had spinal surgery in August of 2020 due to a tumor that was crushing two of my vertebraes. My bones were to weak for rods so the dr basically removed the tumor and the crushed bones. I have to wear a brace

I feel I am progressing well the first 5 minutes I tend to feel tired quickly then it seems to clear and I can just keep going. Question is when to hit the tarmac as I have been running in the fields following spinal surgery July last year?
