Well I have had a very bust couple weeks. Helped out at work in the cold and Xmas on the way and to top it my daughter in law was rushed into emergency surgery. So food has been the last thing to worry about. Hospital food isn't that healthy surprisingly. You would think that they would have some access

Bra tips
Hi, I would like some help. I had some very comfortable supporting bras bought from my heart surgery.Alas these haven't offered much support at all after my breast procedure and became too tight. I had underestimated how big my boob would swell after surgery, the haematoma and seroma didn't help Ideas

cataract Surgery
I needed eye surgery to remove cataracts from both eyes, my first eye surgery was in April 2022, I then had to wait for clear vision in eye after surgery before the cataract in my second eye was removed. After both eyes regained clear vision, you need to have an eye test, and possibly get new spectacles

KNEE SURGERY?
High folks, went to see my consultant a few days ago, asked when I was getting my 1st surgery and we discovered I am NOT on the waiting list. This is apparently due to a CLERICAL ERROR with the orthopedic department. My consultant, lovely person has promised me she will ask for a priority appointment

Tubular Adenomas
Hi. I wasn't sure if I should start a new post for this, or just add to my post in Oct/Nov, so I decided to do both. I hope that's okay. I had my colonoscopy two weeks ago. Results were: - internal hemorrhoids - diverticuli - polyps (I don't know size and how many until I see my dr next week

Treatment for severe OCD
I've undergone surgery for my bad OCD. It helped quite well. I know the FDA has accepted the newer operation type, Deep Brain Stimulation, to offer us, OCD sufferers. I don't exactly know what it is said about DBS in FDA's guidelines, but they consider this surgery as an exception if no other method

My Latest Blood Test Results - Any Advice would be much appreciated ?
Following my last Blood Test results which was taken on the 16.10.23 - despite a T4 being requested by the GP only a TSH was done. Prior to this the consultant wanted me to decrease my Thyroxine from 100mcg to - 100mcg on one day and 75mcg the next - alternating ongoing. I declined to do

Advice after possible Covid
Hi all, I've been horribly ill with what is probably Covid (no positive LFT test but typical weird breathlessness, fluid lungs, fatigue, dizziness and all the rest). However, three weeks later and a course of antibiotics, and I'm still feeling rotten - massive fatigue, pains everywhere, dizziness

Spasms/contractions at night causing intense pain
I'm 34 and have had endo symtoms since I was 11 when my periods started. Endo was suspected right away but I was told if I took birth control it would stop it from growing. Deep infiltrating endo was diagnosed earlier this year throughout my bowel and uterine ligaments and I'm having surgery in the spring. For

cysts on kidneys
hello, I have just had the results of a follow up scan. This one was a renal scan this Tim. I first had an abdominal ultrasound in April. The stomach was mostly fine apart from fatty liver (moderate). They also found a complex cyst on my right kidney measuring 63 × 51 × 50mm. It was labelled as haemorrhagic

heart racing is this anxiety?
I’m 25 and early hours of this morning experienced a spell of feeling like my heart was racing. It’s comes and goes. No sweating or other symptoms. Could this be anxiety? I am really scared about upcoming surgery this Wednesday and to make matters worse my parter is away for 2 nights. I don’t do well

Any body else like me?
Please excuse the long post, I’m hoping to pick you lovely ladies brains 💗. I was diagnosed in feb 2020 - hgs stage 3. Surgery and the usual chemo followed and then avastin for maintenance. In October ‘22 my ca125 rose gradually and a scan showed 3 lymph nodes that my oncologist didn’t think were anything

State of the NHS
I’m posting this just to highlight the difficulties the NHS is in at the moment, I’m a 75 year old asthmaric and have had a cold and chesty cough for nearly 3 weeks. I finally decided this wasn’t going to clear up by itself. There was no way I was going to get an appointment with my GP any time soon.

Dental advice 7 weeks post AVR
Hi all, I’m 7 weeks post surgery after AVR, and feel I’m doing well so far. Unfortunately I managed to brake a tooth last night and am worried it might cause some sort of infection that could affect the new valve/heart. I’m going to contact the dentist first thing Monday morning to try and get an appointment

medConfidential Bulletin , 8th December 2023
Another bulletin that should be required reading for anyone concerned about who has access to any of their health data held by the NHS in England. I'm not sure if any of this is relevant to Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland. It talks about, among other things, the National Data Opt-Out. I opted out

Pain everywhere.
I've been 10+ yrs searching for answers. I had some bladder problems in 2013. Doctors did surgery. I almost died. Apparently they told me my blood vessels looked funny. They didn't know if they "knicked " me or what but I lost 8 pints of blood very quickly. They barely got me transfusion in time. I chalked

Post Operative Steroids
I am now home after having a new knee fitted. They kept me in an extra night due to being in surgery much longer than anticipated and low sodium levels, so saline drip overnight. I am guessing I was given more anaesthesia than planned, I am finding that I am more tired than I've ever felt. I can
