CHRONIC CARE NURSES
These nurses are little angels of mercy because I live in a nursing home after their initial visit they were satisfied that all was in place for me here. But they never left it at that, they ring me once a week and the nurse manager like wise, very often they can put things into place which could not

Introducing myself
Hello I’m new to this site although I posted the letter from my cousin to make you laugh like I did or at least smile. I hope that you do not feel this self-indulgent but this is the only way I can let you see why I feel as I do. In the 1970’s I fell through a trapdoor during a performance thus ending

Muscle spasms
Hi there, I've had major spinal surgery about 11 months ago, with a lot of metalware now holding my back stable, and I was thinking these muscle spasms and stretching are due to this but I'm so confused. I've been having these horrible spasm attacks day and night and I have to keep stretching my whole

Heavy Cold & Sore Throat
Hi everyone, I haven´t been on here for some time as thankfully I have been keeping well. However, I´ve been suffering with a very heavy cold, sore throat and cough for three days now. I take 4 x 2.5 mg methorexate every week and have read the leaflet which advises no other drugs should be taken.

Buying New Clothes...
We went to Tesco's this afternoon...look at me, writing about a feckin' supermarket as though it's seriously interesting...anyway we went and the sky was bright blue and the wind howled and rocked the car when we came to the open parts of the road... Lorries were tucked into the slow lane...it must be

Close Encounters
In the mid 70s, My brother and me were returning home, following another step along the road towards rock stardom. It was about half midnight. What had been a lovely summers day had given way to a warm cloudless night. We were driving along a dark and unlit motorway, the M66, with the shimmering lights

Can running cause or worsen colds?
Twice recently I have come down with cold symptoms after a longer or harder than usual run. I've barely got over the one I had a couple of week ago, now I seem to have another one. Yesterday I hammered the Stamina" podcast and had a sore throat with a few hours....I got one within 5 hours of doing my

Peter's health
Pete is not doing so well today, he seems to be choking a lot and producing excessive amounts of nasty sticky mucous. He does have his back up antibiotics but hopefully they will not be needed. He feels he bumbles from one thing to another but tries to remain cheerful. The back problem is seemingly being

Spinal Cord Stimulation
I need to recharge… Following the unsuccessful procedure I underwent at the end of November (Stellate Ganglion injections), my consultant from the pain clinic presented the future options, one of which had never been indicated before. I hadn’t really been listening to what he was saying until my ears

Good Early Surgery Outcome but frUstrating Warfarin management
Sorry it's taken a couple weeks to write an update on my one level spinal fusion but here it goes: my GP organized my presurgery bridging using LOVENOX. Felt like kind of a joke as my INR was only 1.5 ten days prior to surgery (my therapeutic range he agreed on is 2.5-3.5, which I only hit once since
