First post, AF affected by autonomic system?
Hi this is my first post, I’ve been reading here for a while and appreciate all the good sense and support given. I had first episode of PAF immediately after surgery (mastectomy) six months ago. Since then I’ve had episodes about once every 7 -14 days. They are getting longer, now 14 hours instead

Confused
Hi Everyone, Quick question, what are ectopic beats? are they when your heart feels they have missed a beat or when you get an extra one, two or more beats? I went into AF yesterday although heart rate was quite slow ranging from 90 to 130. When I woke today it was 56 to 68 but keep getting either

Advice for Monday
Hi All, I'm just after some advice as I'm seeing a new Cardiologist on Monday after I collapsed at work in November to be told my SVT was back after my second failed ablation back in November 2014. Since then I have been put on; x4 Verapamil and x2 Ivabradine daily and they don't seem to help at all.

Hi I am very new to this - had an episode of palpitations about 14 months ago which prompted my husband to take me to A&E but by the time I was seen it had stopped and the ecg showed nothing of concern, it was put down as a 1 off and I had nothing else till this Tuesday when I had an attack at work and

Frankincense Oil
Hi all, I am having a very tough time at the moment. I've had a constant migraine since around April 2015. I'm awaiting a lumbar puncture to check pressures and then a release of fluid for increased intracranial pressure. On MST & oramorph (and warfarin) but unfortunately the morphine is not helping

Alright so I have reached my breaking point in back pain I have done everything in my power to avoid surgery but I can't take the pain anymore!!! I've done epidurals, pain meds, nerve block meds, chiropractic, physical therapy, and I've even tried my own strengthening routine (after lots of research)

Hi, I am six weeks on bisoprolol (5mg), flecainide (100mg x2) and apixaban (5mg x2) daily and side effects are no better, I am exhausted, so dizzy, sleep tons and can do little physically. Does anyone take this combo, do you 'get used' to them. I posted about this a month ago, i guess I'm hoping someone

Opinions/advice
I saw the 'big cheese' on Friday (Professor Mark O'Neill, Consultant Cardiologist/EP). Just a check up. I have brady and tachycardia. I had a pacemaker implanted in August to sort the brady bit and was given Bisoprolol 2.5mg x 1 daily plus Apaxiban 5mg x 2 daily. Had trouble with settings for PM and

Pudendal nerve
I could do with some advice, especially from anyone who has PN. I've had this nearly 7 years now, after a clumsy surgeon operating on me for a prolapse but he wouldn't believe me when I said I was in agony after, so because of his refusal it took years to find out what was wrong. I've had nerve blocks

Alivecor
Does anyone on here have alivecor and if sö in the first few seconds of your ecg do you get a really low pulse like 45 then it jumps up to the 70s and stays there? It gives me a normal ecg every time I get a reading like that it just seems like a wild change in pulse rate in a mere 10 seconds.

Nerve block
I had 3 nerve blocks injected last Friday and I am now in more pain than before. I have inguinal neuropathy and my groin now feels like there is boiling water flowing through it and I am being intermittently electrocuted!! Oh joy. Lol Roll on more opioid pain killers which my digestive system hates.

Tachycardia following ablation
Has anybody experienced short bursts of tachycardia even after they have had an ablation? I have had 2 ablations and second was to resolve PAF and SVT. I have recently stopped taking Bisoprolol since this was not preventing the tachycardia anyway. I get a 6 second burst which takes you breath away once

Viral meningitis after effects, mis-diagnosis?
Hi, I had vm in 2006 and have had a rollacoster ever since. Occipital pain, sickness, photophobia etc.. I was finally diagnosed with occipital neuralgia and had successful ish nerve blocks. It was decided I would have radio frequency treatment instead as this may last longer and allow me to be meds free
