Does anyone on here have alivecor and if sö in the first few seconds of your ecg do you get a really low pulse like 45 then it jumps up to the 70s and stays there? It gives me a normal ecg every time I get a reading like that it just seems like a wild change in pulse rate in a mere 10 seconds.

I should add that because I am on beta blockers my hands are always ice cold. Does anyone know if that would interfere with the readings? I do have to say I get the low pulse reading when laying on my left side. I normally have tachycardia so a reading of 45 is very odd even on my beta blockers. I've neve seen my heart rate go below 60 at rest on them. I was diagnosed with svt with no known cause. I also have pvcs.

I had an episode of svt yesterday and it said to send my ecg off for analysis. I'm waiting for ablation surgery. I think these heart issues cause so much stress which in turn creates more heart issues. It's a vicious cycle.

When l take a reading with alivecor my pulse is usually around 100 bpm and then steady for the 30 sec. reading. The graph is a little unsteady for the first couple of seconds then showing the irregular heartbeat.

I just find it strange that sometimes when I first start the ecg, it gives me a pulse reading of like 38 then eventually goes to a more normal heart rate and stays there, it never go back to the low rate it began with. Could it just be looking for my rate in the beginning ?

I think that part of it is the settling down, eliminating background noise etc. When I first got my AliveCor I played around with it and found that the ideal duration was 2 minutes for me but for others that may be 1 minute. That way the interference has less affect on the overall average and therefore results from readings at different times and differnt days can be more accurately compared. This was influenced in my case because my HB can fluctuate quite a bit just sitting down as I am in persistent AF. I did this analysis on a systematic scientific basis but I am not medically qualified.
