S2/S3 root nerve block
Hi everyone, I am having 2 sacral nerve blocks (S2/S3) to try and identify the source of my buttock pain. The Dr thinks I may have Posterior Femoral Cutaneous and Middle Cluneal nerve pain. Since I got home, I have been researching these nerves and see that they can come out of S1 and S4 as well. So

Metoprolol or Bisoprolol?
At my follow up at the JR in Oxford following my 2nd ablation, it was recommended that I take a combination of Flecainide and, initially, Bisoprolol. As I have been off this since last October I was reluctant to take it up again, so the doctor prescribed Metoprolol. My question is, having read all

Alivecor
Just got an Alivecor - had it shipped from the US as its the new generation model. This works very well with an ipad and is easy to set up - so no need for a phone. I did a baseline ECG test and sent it off as a matter of interest - costs 5 quid and came back within 5 minutes! I am sinus rhythm but

Bisoprolol
I have a chronic heart condition including monitoring with an ICD. including AF etc. I seem to be always lethargic, have no go and I always fall asleep during the day. I have just started Apixaban. This seems OK. The Bisoprolol I take has just been increased from the 5mg I have been taking for 5 years

Steroids 18 months after Gamma Knife.
Still trying to get rid of headaches to where I can at least function. First they gave me a occipital nerve block without steroids. This consisted of two shots in my head and two in my neck. I went two weeks and it did not work. I have tried everything up to this point. After speaking with my

Pulse check
It's my understanding that once an afib diagnosis has been made - an irregular pulse indicates afib - conversely, a pulse in sinus rhythm surely indicates that there's no afib present. Is this correct or have I been misled? I understand there are people who are not aware they're in afib - how is that

new meds
Hello everyone, What a very helpful forum this is! I was diagnosed with Afib two years ago - my doctor was happy with the treatment of aspirin/fish oil/diltiazem. However, I have been seen by a cardiologist recently who has prescribed Apixaban ( a newer anticoagulant). Has anyone out there been on

6 months post - ablation review.
I saw an excellent Registrar who I had not met previously. He explained that they considered that my ablation had been very successful. Considering my health now I am towards the top end of good outcomes. My main problem is numb feet. At the 3 months check I asked to have something to help my heart

Flecainide as Pill in Pocket
I've just started taking Flecainide as a pill in the pocket and am amazed at how quickly I revert to sinus rhythm. Could other members who do the same please let me know the dose they take and how long they take it for to make sure that it's really stopped their heart racing. Also do you take other control

Holter results
I was diagnosed with paroxysmal af about 3 years ago and have managed with a flecainide PIP having about 4 episodes a year, but I have been getting more frogs in the chest recently especially lying on my side. My gp referred me for a holter and the results are 2 episodes of narrow complex tachycardia

New to this forum
Hi all, I was looking up visual disturbances with migraine & found myself reading some posts. I had migraines as a teenager, but after a 3 month course of homeopathic treatment & avoiding certain food groups, I was migraine free for 20 years. Unfortunately I had 3 car accidents & a nasty fall within

Pudendal nerve block
I did it ! After much deliberation and the off putting comments not to go ahead with it. But, from what I think, it worked. Dr Greenslade did the nerve block in spire hospital in Bristol. He was £300 for the consultation and £95 for the anaesthetic to do the block. He did it via ultrasound. I was pain

Help!!
I have an appointment to get occipital nerve block injections. But I just received 31 Botox injections on Monday, Jan 5th, 2015 from a different neurologist. Should I get the occipital nerve block injections or wait to see if the Botox is going to work? I have about 3-4 migraines per week.

My Heart has Been Racing for 5 days non stop...
...now. It started in the early hours of Friday morning and I managed to bring my heart rate down lots with the valsalva maneuver. However, with the help of medication I've now brought it down to around 105. I can do light jobs around the house but can't walk very far without making myself feel ill.

Help, I need advice
Hello everyone, I am new to this wonderful forum where I have read so many post that have for me been very enlightening regarding AF. I was diagnosed with Atrial Tachycardia about ten years ago after an EP study and put on 10mg of propranolol to help with the arrhythmia but, as time went on the Tachycardia

Does anybody know how much a pudendal nerve block costs privately in the UK?
I saw Dr Wong in Spire last month and he suspects it's pudendal nerve entraptment, he is going to get back to me when his colleague is back this month so they can do a nerve block. I'm not sure of the cost, I know he's like £200 just for the consultation so wondering if anybody has an idea how much
