Anyone had an ablation and keep suffering bad ectopic beats?
I'm Feeling really low at the moment as I keep having ectopic beats and I'm beginning to think it would have been better not to have had my last ablation. I'm not sure though if I've become so anxious about it that I'm causing the ectopic beats myself as my nerves are in shreds at the moment. I had anti

Nerve Block Injections
I took the plunge last Thursday by submitting myself to having the Greater Occipital Nerve Block injections. I was warned that they would be painful, that I would probably experience some numbness in my head and that the anesthetic would wear off after 24 hours leaving me with some pain and that I would

Bisoprolol as a 'pill in the pocket'
A few weeks ago when admitted to hospital with my pulse at a constant 160, they treated it with Metoprolol and it soon went back into normal sinus rhythm. I thought it strange that they had prescribed this drug as a few years ago, when I was again in hospital with constant tachycardia they overdosed

Been in hospital
My heart took off racing earlier in the week and my GP called an ambulance and I was admitted to the cardiology ward of my local hospital. While in A&E I was given magnesium by drip and it didn't agree with me at all. I felt like a hot rushing through my veins and then started to very slowly pass out

I think I need to try the change of drug route before undergoing

I have Colitis & Reflux
I use Lialda for the colitis and it stays in check. For the reflux I use Dexilant and I thought this would also remain in check. Recently had surgery for PAD in my legs. Actually just the first leg and I came down with a server case of reflux where by bile would constantly come up. The hospital gave

Pudendal nerve block

They did talk about trying to remove the mesh that was inserted in a TVTO two years ago but we agreed this would probably

Flunarizine
My neurologist has suggested that I might try Flunarizine. Has anyone had experience of this drug? Did it work? What is it's success rate? Topamax (topirimate) did not suit me. I found the side effects to be very unpleasant (frequent nausea, loss of appetite with consequent loss of weight and depression

Changing from Aspirin to Apixaban
I have been taking 300mg Aspirin for about two years after getting paroxymal tachycardia which developed into PAF. At my last visit to my EP he said we'd discuss changing to an anticoagulant at my next appointment in December. After reading so many things about Aspirin not being effective I am seeing

cox maze procedure
Hi has anyone had a cox maze procedure if so how long is reasonable to decided if it has been succesful. I also had a tumour removed from my atria. The consensus is up to 12 months before success can be judged. I am much better than my pre op permanent AF and post op. Mainly its exertion that stops me

Tai Chi & Osteoporosis
Just a quick post: Whilst in hospital yesterday having foot surgery, I was chatting to another patient and she told me how both she and her friend with osteoporosis had discovered that by doing Tai Chi they had improved their bone density exponentially. Thought those of you with it or worrying about

Micturation and AF - the reason?
Some time ago we had a discussion (with some hilarious posts) about frequent loo visits to pee during AF and it was a question which I put during a consultation but didn't get an definitive answer. I had a recent run of SVT episodes and the same trotting to the loo occurred. Apparently it is because
