I had 3 nerve blocks injected last Friday and I am now in more pain than before. I have inguinal neuropathy and my groin now feels like there is boiling water flowing through it and I am being intermittently electrocuted!! Oh joy. Lol
Roll on more opioid pain killers which my digestive system hates.

This sounds absolutely hideous! Poor you. Have you phoned the doctor/hospital to report this result? that does not sound 'normal' at all! please seek help.
I have left messages with my pain management doctor but he hasn't called me back yet. The downside of seeing a doctor who is in great demand and who also lectures is that it can be incredibly hard to get hold of them. I've been to my gp but just got a script for more painkillers.
Gawd! That's really disappointing for you. He really should return your call - in demand or not in demand. Hopefully the pain will calm down but going forward have you read Tim Parks book, teach me to sit still? I'm not a mumbo jumbo kind of person but he describes a long term groin problem where the best help was obtained with a knowledgeable body worker - and the mumbo jumbo.... But maybe worth considering? Best wishes, 😜
Your lucky to have even seen a pain management Dr! Lol. I am going through my second round at pain clinic with excellent CBT and physiotherapists but never seen pain DR. The problem is my GP is excellent but wary of oramorph and MST tablets. Also when under the care of the specialist pain team he doesn't like to change meds so I can understand that. I think I will write a letter in as they seem to reply to those rather than phone calls!
Opiods frequently cause constipation and stomach issues. When I'm in the U.S doctors hand them out like candy. That's why there is such a problem with opiate abuse.
I know they cause constipation. I have to take stuff for that but what does it do to your guts that is worse than wanting to kill yourself from pain?
I really feel for you! My Dr was talking about this for me today! I said....please no! All I hear is bad things about it!
I used bupe patches. Great for mild pain. The Oral bupe is fabulous and lasts for hours! I just fear that it could cause some kind of oral cancer? It is delivered into the mouth.
I had bupe and tramdol. I still use the tramadol. The reason I stopped bupe is that I read in another forum two guys taking oral film bupe were talking that 'just happed to also have oral cancer' I do not know if a link is there, it just freeeked me out!
All I can say is I've had nerve blocks (to my shoulder and back of head) and it was more painful for a while afterwards. I suppose it's like stubbing your toe ( the existing pain) and then deliberately smashing it with a hammer (injecting the painful bit).
To be fair, the pain clinic did warn me both times that things can get worse before they get better. I thought it was funny that they sent me home with a few paracetamol - I had a couple of tramadol as soon as I got in.
Sadly for me, neither nerve block worked. I hope you have better luck and feel better soon.
