Stop NOACS for surgery??
I am scheduled for carpal tunnel surgery. Was told to stop apixaban 5 days before and 2 days after! I will have a heart attack thinking about being off that long. Anybody else having procedures and told to stop?

Constant Migraine with Aura, what else can I try?
Hi, I started having migraines April 2016 and they became constant August 2016. For the first few months I was in agony and didn’t leave my pitch black room, I also have to move back in with my parents. I have come a long way since then(am now able to live on my own!) but I still struggle with noise/

Betablockers and resting heart rate
Hi just a general query. I suffer from Long QT Syndrome and take Propranolol 160mg a day and have a resting heart rate of 70-75. Is this ok as I thought the betablocker was supposed to slow my heart rate down. Thanks

I did 6 days ago a nerve block CT guided bilateral in the Alcock canal plus the two ligaments. I arrived at the hospital after a lot of rest in bed, and I was virtually pain free. (I am on 150mg ×2 of Lyrica and 10mg of Amitriptyline). After the injection a new pain started and now all the right part

My cardiologist has just put me on Flecainide 75mg and Metoprolol 25mg twice daily as well as Physiotens 200mcg ( Monoxidine ) once daily. Hopefully they will stop my rapid AF episodes.

Simplifying the complex vagal issue
I've spent the last few days reading through past posts on the vagal issue in AF, and researching online. But I can't seem to get a clear, simple concept of how exactly, the vagus nerve contributes to starting and stopping AF! I understand the basic 'vagus nerve slows the heart rate' concept. Also, that

Just keep going
Hi all, I’m a new boy here but an old friend to af. I started getting AF in Jan 2004 I was admitted to the hospital I worked at and sent home 2 days later on beta blockers to control my rate. Unfortunately when I reported back for cardioversion my rate was still 160. This was my life for 5 years 3-6

Circumcision recovery
I'm 67 and had a circumcision today. I was due to have a general anaesthetic but because of mild asthma, ended up with two spinal injections. The first didn't work and had to be repeated. That prep took 40 minutes in itself. The operation went well at around 40 minutes also. However, the in-unit recovery

Cardio consultation
I've been on Bisoprolol and Apixaban for two months and feel exhausted most of the time and quickly become breathless. I had an echocardiogram last week and I'm seeing a cardio consultant tomorrow. What questions should I ask?
