4 months follow-up after Cryoablation for Paroxysmal Afib
It's been 4 months since I had my cryoablation, after which the EP indicated that he thought I was in the 80% success rate. Well, so far, it's been pretty good. No more episodes of paroxysmal A-fib, nor any other odd or unique sensations around my heart. During my post ablation follow-up with my EP

Sotalol v Bisoprolol
My GP recently decided to discontinue my beta-blocker from 2 x 2.5 bisoprolol and take 1 x 50mg sotalol instead. (This decision was following an ICD firing) I had been taking the bisoprolol for the last ten years and monitoring my BP with a cuff device, where my BP had always shown a borderline normal

A/Fib and Diabetes
Hi there everyone. Long story short diagnosed with A Fib and on Sotalol twice daily [40mg dose]. Is there or does anyone else have type 2 diabetes [recent diagnosis after blood test/hypos] any connection between both of these. I also have Chronic Lymphocytic Thyroiditis and just wondered if they are

Morning arrhythmia for a few hours
I had a second ablation for AF and flutter in May 2021 which was deemed a success. After the first six months things settled and did not record any more AF on my Kardia. Was on Flecainide then. I have low bp, am 65 and am currently taking only Bisoprolol 1.25mg on waking. I have chronic nausea since

A bit of moral support needed - a virtual hug?!
I have a history of PAF, with one ablation back in 2016 but it has been quite well controlled with medication (albeit I don't welcome the side effects!) But I have now been in AF since 14 February this year following surgery to remove a tumour on my lower eye lid. I didn't have a GA but nonetheless

Coughing and breathing problems with medication
Hi my husband was diagnosed with AF last September and put on Bisoprosol, saw an EP privately in February after a few a few episodes and was put on Sotalol no Bisoprosol. Had to come off that due to side effects so put on Flecainide unfortunately he should have been put on Bisoprosol with this but it

Can 'permanent atrial fibrillation' be a misdiagnosis?
I have had paroxysmal AF since 1995 and taking sotalol (beta blocker) led a fairly normal life until 2020, when I suffered an ischaemic stroke, blamed on AF. Recently both my doctor and my cardiologist have told me I have permanent AF although there are long periods, such as this afternoon, when my

Since then I have modified numerous aspects of lifestyle as - cut out alcohol and cut way down caffeine, improved sleep

Sotalol &high blood pressure medicine
Is anyone on sotalol and high blood pressure medicine at the same time? My blood pressure is to high then to low, the GP is trying different medicine and dosages to see what works. I know it can take a bit of time to get the right meds to work. Thank you

Sotalol and swollen ankles and feet
Hi all, I was put on sotalol about 2 months ago, I started noticing my feet swelling a little bit about 4 weeks ago, the last week they have swollen up a lot more it’s saying on the medicine notes that swelling is a common side affect. Was just wondering how many others have this side affect. I do have

Breathlessness
I'm four weeks post ablation. Still on sotalol and rivaroxaban but I'm getting breathlessness abs anxiety. Is this normal after an ablation. Will it get better or is something wrong. I'm not due a follow up appointment for another month.

Question about Diltiazem
I take diltiazem 120 once per day and Sotalol 120 twice per day. Anyone out there have any thoughts on the best time of day to take diltiazem (whether I should take the diltiazem in the AM or PM)? I currently take it before bedtime (PM). I have this feeling ( just my intuition) that I should take

Sotalol
My Cardiologist has recommended DC Cardioversion and Sotalol as I’m in Atrial Flutter. I’m already taking Entresto Apixapian & Bisoprol ! Will Sotalol replace any of these or is it an additional tablet?

New on here, G'day.
Hi guys & girls, Healthy 39yr old Aussie male, first round of AF at 29 had an ablation at 33 went well. Am 39 now and it has just came back, cardiologist tells me we are going for round 2. Only difference this time is that the AF came back rapid and the sotalol is putting my blood pressure very low.

Apo-Sotalol
I’ve been on Sotalol for 14 months. I take half a tab two times a day. 40 mg x 2. It worked very well. I didn’t want to be on meds for the rest of my life, so I chose ablation. Just had my ablation this week. I will remain on Sotalol for another two months before stopping.

Seems to be going well at last !
I was just 'looking back'..........4 years since I noticed some paroxymal AF. 3 and a half years since it went persistent constantly (90-130 bpm) and I finally got it diagnosed. 3 years since a failed cardioversion. 2 years since an abandoned sedated PV cryo ablation, as I went into asystole (

1 month out from RF ablation for asymptomatic afib
Hi. I was diagnosed with afib in late 2019 at age 66 and put on an anti-coag and sotalol. I was in and out of afib quite regularly but rarely symptomatic. Three cardioversions failed to restore normal sinus rhythm (NSR) for any real length of time, so ablations were suggested (I live in the US.) Since

AF out of the blue!
Went to bed and was relaxing reading and listening to music when I got a run of about 5 or 6 ectopics in succession. About 5 minutes later, after briefly settling , they resumed, this time tipping over into PAF. This was completely unexpected and is particularly worrying as it's the first episode I've
