It's been 4 months since I had my cryoablation, after which the EP indicated that he thought I was in the 80% success rate. Well, so far, it's been pretty good. No more episodes of paroxysmal A-fib, nor any other odd or unique sensations around my heart. During my post ablation follow-up with my EP he reduced my Sotalol dosage from 120 to 80 and plans a further reduction if my situation remains stable.
The image I included with my post was given to me by my EP after the ablation, while I was in recovery. It is an image of my heart (illuminated by contrast) displaying electrical activity before and after the ablation. The bottom image is the “pre-ablation” visual, and the top image is the “post-ablation” image. The purple areas depict on-going electrical activity, the red areas depict the absence of electrical activity. As you can see, when comparing the top to the bottom, the reduction of purple in the “post-ablation” image suggests that the ablation eliminated a significant portion of the electrical activity. Seems like he did a pretty good job and the way I have felt since the ablation, supports that.
