Mechanical heart valves and PAF
Hi everyone, Just curious if anyone has mechanical heart valves and PAF too. I’m a 41yo male who was diagnosed with PAF a few years ago. Currently I am having 3 to 4 episodes of AF a week lasting between 30mins to 5hours. I am seeing an EP who is helping me adjust to my new increased dose of Sotalol

In AF again.
For the last 7 weeks or so I have had no AF and hardly any ectopics. Ectopics had been a particular problem in the evenings and I was convinced that there had been a real improvement. In fact I had somehow, very stupidly, persuaded myself that the AF could be controlled and avoided althogether. Woke

Sotalol
Well, today I went for an ECG to check that the 125mg twice daily dose of Sotolol, hasnt further widened the PR interval. I have first degree heart block and a combination of flecanide and bisoprolol had increased it although still within acceptable limits. Despite Sotolols apparent bad press, it seems

Xtandi, how long could it take to work?
My husband has taken Xtandi for three months now after becoming castrate resistant to Firmagon. His Psa with Xtandi went down from 37 to 31 the first month, then went up 2nd month to 54 because he stopped taking it for a few days because he couldn't manage side effects -rib pain- (he has mets in bones

Changing from Sotalol to Flecaine side effects. Who has made this change too?
Hello I changed from Sotalol 80x2 a day to Flecaine 200 mg slow release and 3.75 mg Bisoprolol today because I was having more frequent Afib ( Paroxysmal) episodes and a lot of PVC and PAC's . I've just had a few seconds of a hammering heart but feel fine. I can't halve my dose as it is a capsule .

Goodbye flecanide my old friend!
Well, the day I knew would eventually come, has arrived. A year ago I had a routine stress test to check that flecanide was not causing any potentially dangerous rhythms. My previous years test results had been reported to me and they were fine. This time I didn’t get a report despite my best efforts

PVC's have arrived
Having had three wonderful months being AF free - having opted recently for 'Pace and Ablate' procedure - I was thrown into unsettled confusion last week by frequent bouts of what felt like PVC's. My first thought was that a wire had come out. So I phoned the arrhythmia team and given an emergency

has anyone dropped HR lower than 40 BPM on Sotalol ? What steps were taken by the EP to resolve?
my husband is newly diagnosed with paroxysmal AFib -along with PVCs and PACs. We have chosen to have an RF ablation in about 6 weeks. EP Doc put him on Sotalol 80mg 2 x day. He was on this dosage for 3 days and his HR dropped into the low 40s and lower. His normal HR is 50-60 --he was exhausted, short

Post Ablation and Change of Medication
I was wondering if anyone has been in a similar position to myself and could offer some advice. I was disappointment after an episode clear 11 months using my CPAP ( sleep machine ) to have an AF episode which went into Atrial Flutter and had to have a DC Cardiversion ( my PIP Flecainide didn't work

Is Flecainide making me worse?
I’m at my wits end - I have had multiple ectopics for 3 years, recently developing into PAF, and occasional SVTs. Bisoprolol up to 10mg a day probably made it worse, Sotalol 80mg bd did not work, now Cardio put me on Flecainide 50mg bd and Bisoprolol 2.5mg. Thought it helped first day, but then getting

Afib meds and estradiol
I was diagnosed with Afib about 2 years ago. I take Sotalol and Xeralto. My PCP wants me to go off my estradiol but I still need my estrogen because I tried a half dose and got all the stupid symptoms back like face and hair sweating, night sweats and mood swings. She was trying to ween me off my estradiol

Sotalol causing bradycardia
It has been lowering my bpm as low as 28: and often in the 30-40 ranges, especially at nights, then I go into A Fib. Sitting rate in the 40 bpm range I started taking half the dose and don’t group as low. Either way, full or half dose, I’m in AFIB 2 days out of 4. Taking Sotalol for a year. I believe

Sotalol and Prolonged QTc
Hi ! Hope you are all keeping well. This post is specifically to ask anyone who is or has been on Sotalol or any other drugs that caused PQTc and to know how you are managing the acquired prolonged QT that is caused by the medication? Would really like to know how often do you check for your QT? Don

On for a rant
Hi all, I’ve not posted before, although this forum has given me so much. I read it avidly every day. Today I’m incensed and have to rant to people who understand. Sorry for that, and sorry for long post. So, Wednesday stomach issues, probably viral, endless diarrhoea. Saturday afternoon felt really
