I take diltiazem 120 once per day and Sotalol 120 twice per day. Anyone out there have any thoughts on the best time of day to take diltiazem (whether I should take the diltiazem in the AM or PM)? I currently take it before bedtime (PM). I have this feeling ( just my intuition) that I should take it in the AM, but could find no literature that addresses this question...perhaps it doesn't matter.

Question about Diltiazem
Hi - I take bisoprolol as needed not Ca++ antagonists but was reading something else and thought I'd mention what I found which was that morning or evening doses seem to be much the same. There seems to be emerging evidence that when taken to reduce blood pressure, antihypertensives are better at night but need doctor approval for this.

I take Diltiazem at breakfast time. I have to take flecainide an hour before eating then the Diltiazem with breakfast. Don’t know if it’s the same for everyone.
Previously I've always taken my Diltiazem at night before my evening meal. But with recent events was told to take in the mornings. I'm not keen tbh but am staying with it for now. When I first went on Diltiazem the EP who prescribed it said it made no difference morning or evening.
I take 120mg diltiazen once a day in the morning......that is what the cardiologist said to do
