Sotalol reduction to get off it?
Hi, I am a new member. 3 months ago I was given Sotalol after having a replacement aortic valve. Surgeon said I can stop this medication now. But after reading the patient info about this med, it said don't stop abruptly. But the surgeon did not suggest a reduction method. When I stopped it and after

Escitalopram anti-depressant
I have just been to see my EP for a 6 monthly check up and at the moment he is quite happy that my medication of Sotalol 40mg and Apixaban is controlling my afib even though I have had a couple of 'wobbles' (2 episodes in 6 months following diarrhoea on both occasions). We talked ablation but he doesn't

In AF again! Moving to persistent/permanent AF?
I had an episode of PAF about ten days ago. Ongoing symptoms of more frequent ectopics and "heavy" heartbeats (palpitations) seemed to be settling down over the last two or three days. I woke at about 0620 this morning-I had been dreaming pleasantly-and remember thinking that the heart felt really

Failure at getting off antiarrhythmic med
I am a 57 years old Male. March 2021, afib episodes, while deep breathing to try to slow my heart rate, fell in syncope, had sustained vtach, vfib and cardiac arrest. Fortunately, I was already hospitalized for rapid afib and watched on a heart monitor. 2 days later I had a pacemaker/defibrilator.

Ashwagandha. Interactions with heart meds?
Ashwagandha seems to be good at reducing stress, but I’m wondering what interactions there might be with Sotalol and Warfarin. Does anyone have any experience pls?

Mini Miracle
I was diagnosed with Afib in late August. Had a cardioversion that lasted a week. Went on to Sotalol- kicking and screaming all the way. As of two days ago my 24/7 Afib stopped and I am in Sinus Rhythm. Dr. said it was due to Sotalol and if I stop it the Afib will return. My heart is enlarged noted

Sotalol and Sertraline
I am under a lot of stress at the moment and feeling very low following PMR diagnosis and disruption to my GI due to the meds. I am tapering prednisolone and down to 2mg although some shoulder pain. I have paroxysmal afib. My doctor wants me on low dose sertraline but I have read this is a dangerous

Pill in pocket
Look forward to comments. Seems my cardiologist wants to cover all the bases (more medications = better protection). GP agreed I should try coming off flecainide. Taking Xarelto blood thinner to be safe. Use Apple Watch and take ECG readings at every opportunity. Five days ago I went off flecainide

Want to mange this thing!
I had catheter ablation for supraventricular Tachycardia in March and second one in June. Was told 2nd ablation would fix me, as the Electrophysiologist now knew what to do/where to ablate and would use special mapping equipment and higher powered catheters. He ablated SVT site and found a Flutter site

Ablation
Hi I’ve now had 4 Ablations 1 was terminated due to a haemorrhage. Following a telephone consultation with my EP he has offered me another Ablation but wants me in Arterial flutter so can map effectively, his concerns are that last time whilst mapping he touched something ( his words) and my heart return

Dreaming and Beta Blockers
Below is copied from a Google search. For years, beta-blockers have been known to cause central nervous system (CNS) side effects, such as psychiatric conditions, bizarre and vivid dreams, sleep disturbances, delirium, psychosis, and visual hallucinations [1].22 May 2020 Following my initial PAF diagnosis

From Flecainide and Sotalol to Metoprolol
I have switched from the “plumber” to the “electrician”. He took me off from Flecainide and Sotalol and put me on Metoprolol (25 mg twice a day) and keep having Digoxin through. My energy has improved a bit and, in general, feel much better… I didn’t have the Ablation indicated by my previous cardiologist

Drinking and AF
I was diagnosed with persistent/permanent AF back in June, I had a cardioversion that worked well for 6 days, I'm on the list to have an ablation but the wait is 9 to 12 months here.... I like to have a drink now and again, nothing over the top maybe 3-4 pints a week... I have read that it is best not

Keeping AF at bay
In my upper 70's have had Mitral valve repair and 2 cardioversions plus pacemaker;on maximum doses of sotalol, amias, furosemide; in general holding Afib at bay but occasional relapses with pulse rate in 120's. Episodes occur about once a month without any apparent associated reasons. Episodes last about

Has any sustained vtach/cardiac arrest survivor successful at getting off meds?
About 1 month ago, I found your forum. That put an end to my afib episodes getting more frequent. I got the book the Afib cure. I changed my diet, I not only sleep better, my frequent trips to the bathroom (following colon cancer 8 years ago,) stopped! I am 57 years old, very active with a 40 resting

Amiodarone
I have been, for more than 2 yeas, on Flecainide (150 mg), Sotalol (80 mg) and Digoxin (187.5 mg) and had 3 cardioversions, the last one didn't work. My AF was on and off since then, and my energy deteriorated by the day. I didn't opt for and Ablation, as suggested by my Car since I'm 83 and as I heard
