News that worried us and studies that gave us hope (04/2022).
This is the information that gave us hope while my father was alive and has given hope to many since then (March 2012). 1. News that worried us. In the coming decades the number of Parkinson's disease patients is feared to increase very worryingly, to double by 2030 (Dorsey 2007) and even to triple

Nightly afib!

I still get nightly episodes of afib that wake me usually between tow to three hours after going to bed! I can always self terminate these episodes using a variety of vagal manoeuvres but I’

Long term Ppi
Hi just a general question regarding the long term use of Omeprazole . I'VE had PAF since 2017 , an unsuccessful cryoablation in 2019 and am currently on the waiting list for a follow up RF ablation . My episodes are infrequent , reasonably mild and always self resolve within 12 hours. I've been on various

The feet. Why the feet!
Hi all, newbie here. Diagnosed last year with RLS. Cramps are the biggest problem, I can cope with the bubbling feeling, I can even see the twitching under my skin, is that normal? Anyway, it’s the feet I want to ask about. The cramp in my feet is unreal. Specifically the arch at the top of my foie

Tinnitus, vertigo and nausea update
A year ago I develop sudden onset loud T in left ear. Went through the whole panic, can’t sleep, can’t eat, how will I live with this thing. Then came to terms with it and started sleeping, trying to live life normally. About 6 months ago, I started feeling severely dizzy and nauseous 24/7. It was just

When to take iron
It seems, from what I have read, that iron has to be taken without food. But also not close to when I take other minerals such as calcium or magnesium, or certain medicines like my thyroid medicine. Is it OK then to take iron at the same time I take my RLS medicine, which at this time is still ropinerole

Takes time but getting better
It is a long and often painful journey but my experience is that I/we am/are getting quite a lot back brainwise but very slowly. At the moment I'm on immune suppressants to stop my brain inflaming itself and any infection is potentially fatal. I'm also on anti-biotics to treat a water infection or UTI

Supplement, Iodine advice and more
Hi everyone Just need a little advice please. I am just not feeling right with headaches in morning, fuzzy head, fatigue and tummy upsets. I am trying to get to the bottom of why I am feeling so low. I came off thyroxine pills last May as I could not tolerate the fillers. After some hassle my GP

Calcium Supplements Edited with more Info
Jim's Calcium level has been around 10 since Dec 2020. He had his first Lupron shot Jan 2021. Abiraterone started Mar 2021. He has been on 1000mg of Oyster Shell Calcium and when I recently reviewed her instructions from 2020 I realized she had wanted him to take 650mg calcium citrate or carbonate

Hi everyone I’m struggling a bit with medication/supplement and food timings now I am back on thyroxine and NDT. I take thyroxine plus half grain of ERFA at 7.00 am and that’s fine, I leave an hour until breakfast. But I am supposed to take another half grain at noon and I’m struggling because I assume

Hawthorne berry Chaste berry magic
I have tried gabapentin and it gave me breathing problems. I have tried weed but it makes to lethargic and unfocused the next day. Magnesium only works 60% of the time, although I still keep mag cream near my bedside. Here what I have had success with 1.Peony root+ Licorice. Temporarily and mildly

What nutrient tests would you recommend please?
In a previous post I mentioned my dad was due a call from GP to discuss his Dec nutrients and thyroid TFTs. It was the usual wait and see approach and test annually for his thyroid but she suggested he continues to supplement iron to try to address his overall levels, particularly his ferritin which

Blood test for calcium
I was reading the 'Supplement timing' post which appeared in my daily e-mail this morning and one of the replies from greygoose raised a good point. In the past I was mildly low with my calcium and since going through a surgical menopause in October 2021 and having a DEXA scan which showed mild osteopenia

RLS codeine
I have never experienced such a dramatic sensation in my body but I do keep RLS at bay with dihydrocodeine before bedtime and one in the night if I start kicking and screaming. The two natural things I find helpful is magnesium and a magnet wrapped in cloth near my legs.

DXA Bone Density T score Lumbar spine from -4.0 to -3.6
Two years ago my DXA Bone Density T score lumbar spine was-4.0 today it's -3.6. I understand this is still osteoporosis but the results were a little better. For the past two years I have been taking Marine collagen, vitamin D, calcium, and magnesium. I also started Pilates on 11/2021 and I go 4-5
