Iron values
I finally went to the Dr and had my iron levels tested. My serim ferritin is 408 and my transferrin is 26%. So my basic understanding is i have to decrease the first and increase the second. How do I do this?? The issue now is that my GP has no idea what this means and how to get to correct levels. Any

TSH extremely low but low-ish free T3 and free T4
Hi, I'm here again. 3 doctors in and six years down the line. I can't seem to get any help. My results are totally confusing me. I researched and have come up with an idea but would like some feedback. I was on 2.5 grains of armour but have been switched to Novothyral 100, 8 weeks ago I have hashimoto

Genetic therapy: for solid malignancy hopefully soon
ok, I post them also because they are fellow Italians! But the platform is very promising even if clinical use has been approved only for glioma and glioblastoma at the moment. But there are clinical trials going on for solid tumors, prostate included. https://www.genenta.com/wp-content/uploads/2021

Iron infusion error.
Hi all, Be extremely alert if you ever have to have an iron infusion as misplacement of the cannula can have severe consequences. In my case the needle didn’t fully enter the vein so the fluid dispersed around the tissue resulting in permanent staining which has made me look like an orangutan. Only

Heme iron versus ferrous gluconate
Recent bloodwork shows a low iron problem accross several measures. PCP says to take ferrous gluconate. I remember iron discussions from a previous site in which heme iron was recommended for its better absorption, though ferrous gluconate is superior to some other forms in terms of absorption. I

Starting B12 injections, how often?
Hello everybody, I will be receiving my first B12 injection next week. My blood test results were as follows folate 3.4ug/L, ferritin 19.9ug/L and B12 218ug/L before any medication. I started on iron and folate tablets a week ago. What I'm wondering is how often should I be getting the B12 injection

FINALLY found a scientific study that supports my theory about Brain Iron and Serum Iron. Finally!!!
First, the relevant quote from the article: “The serum iron concentration was significantly higher in the RLS group than in the control group, but remained within normal ranges in both groups. In this study, there was a significant correlation between serum and CSF iron concentrations, both in the RLS

Hubby Update - B12D Lanzoprazole
Hi Guys Thank you all in advance. Update on hubby. To remind you of his background, two stents in 2018. He has heart disease due to genetics not lifestyle. He doesn’t drink excessively or smoke, has a bit more tum than in his youth but still does a physical job as a builder. He’s been on a low

b12 iron relationship?
Hi friends…I was diagnosed with a b12 deficiency in June, which is thankfully improving with injections (I had horrible neuro symptoms). I had my iron tested twice over the summer, both well in the good range (over 100). However, this week I had an iron panel showing my iron is 40 (literally the bottom

Multivitamins
Hello. I just wondered if anyone could recommend a good multivitamin that has no iron. Since my diagnosis of GH in Dec 2022, my GP advised me to stop taking my regular multivitamin as it contained iron. However I’ve found it difficult to find something to replace it. Thanks in advance. 😀

Iron deficiency
Hello I’m asking a question with regards to low ferritin levels (17.4). I’m confused whether I should be prescribed folic acid or iron?!

I have had mild RLS for many years triggered by tiredness. Now it has got much worse, keeping me awake at night. I dont want to start on pharmaceutical's if possible and try to avoid doctors as much as I can. My last blood showed that my ferretin was low in range and vit D was fine ( I supplement). I
