Erfa swap update
my ferritin has just come back as 28 (5-204) I think this is my iron store so it’s clearly deficient. I’ve struggled with anaemia since I was about 18 (maybe before but no cause before then for a blood test it was discovered when I became a donor) No one has ever given me a reason for this! And I

Gabapentin not working - next steps?
Ongoing RLS symptoms mostly during the day. Had a few months of respite this year where it just seemed to go away mysteriously, but is now back with a vengeance. Gabapentin 400mg three times per day doesn't seem to touch it. I take it throughout the day instead of in the evening because the RLS mostly

Off B12 a week before B12 blood test or not?
Hello, my mum is due a repeat B12 blood test (and hoping for a full iron panel too which I have just requested) - does she need to stop the B12 supplements a week before the blood test? Or is stopping B vitamins only necessary before the thyroid blood tests? Many thanks.

Very early, still a looooong way out, and results were only in animal models, but something to keep an eye on. https://www.brainpost.co/weekly-brainpost/2023/11/7/targeted-gene-therapy-for-symptom-relief-in-parkinsons-disease

Excess Iron In The Brain Of PwP And The Role Of Thiamine, Melatonin And Hesperidin In Alleviating This Issue
Excess iron in the brain is thought to be a contributing factor to PD and is known to damage the brain. Iron increases in the brain with age, but even more so in PD. ADT and Headaches
To all, I may have mentioned it before, but I've had low-level but disruptive headaches since I started ADT along with low RBC/Hemoglobin/Hematocrit. Also as a diabetic, I've been on metformin for many years, thus depleting my B12 levels. I've talked to my doctors about this, and the only solution

Good morning everyone - following my last post when I was suffering a backslide from my previous post when I was feeling so much better - you recommended me to get a full private test - initially to get a T3 reading, but as I was unsure of my Folate /Vit D etc I went for the full Advanced Thyroid test

blue fingers when in hot bath??
Has anyone else had this? It happen to my toes when I was in the shower the other day too. I don’t know if it’s Raynauds or my low ferritin/anemia or what. About to go for a colonoscopy this week for the anemia and a high positive FIT test but I can’t see it being linked to that.
