Iron infusion flopped
Iron infusion flopped After my second iron infusion my serum ferritin catapulted from 55 to 588! Unfortunately, it did not stop the “bleed through”. Horizant, which is supposed to last 24 hours only controls my RLS for about 16 to 18 hours and then I get symptom bleed through. I was hoping that at

Is it Fibromyalgia?
Hello, I recently went to the doctors because I have had pain all over my body (shoulders, neck, knees, ankles, elbows, jaw), dizziness, exhaustion and feeling fluey for around 18 months. I had a blood test to check for RA and general health and was all clear apart from low iron. The doctor has put

Heme vs Non-Heme Iron Supplements
Since being diagnosed with low ferritin three months ago, I've been on ferrous sulfate tablets (1 - 65mg along with 500 mg vitamin C twice a day with meals). It's been working fine (went from 11 to 45 in a month) without any side effects. However, early on, I purchased a bottle of Three Arrows Heme after

ET/PV/MPN-U
Hi, this is my first post. I have been inspired by others’ positive feedback and useful information sharing to share my journey so far. It was diagnosed with ET last November with platelets in the high 800s, although they have been high since at least 2019. I started taking daily aspirin. In May my haematocrit

Morning blood cortisol test, is it worth it?
Hello everyone, I'm planning on doing an Ultimate Performance blood test with Medichecks to look at a whole range of things. Particularly I'm interested in the thyroid values as it will be a 6 week follow up to my pervious one and I want to see if anything has changed. I'm undiagnosed and unmedicated

I posted my daughters pre hysterectomy bloods in September and had some excellent advice. She has redone the blood tests and I still think the thyroid test results are strange. She has been on iron for 8 weeks. The first results are for September. And the second for

First SI, the pain, ouch!
Hello everyone, Asking for help again on my SI journey please 🙏 Yesterday I did my first IM injection into the thigh following a video by a UK GP. It hurt much less than the one I had done in the arm at a clinic 2 weeks ago (to check no allergic reaction) so I thought great, this is the way to go

Need advice on these blood test results - wondering if it might be hypo, but Dr's all say numbers are fine.
I have just stumbled upon this site, and am hoping that you knowledgeable people can help me out.
The short story:
I'm undiagnosed, never been on any thyroid hormones. Feeling unwell for over 2 years - fatigue/tiredness, weight gain, hair loss (decreased hair density on scalp), loss of outer third

Sudden recent darkness under eyes
Hey, all, I think I know that a lot of people have dark area around their eyes just as part of their normal selves. But I have never had any rings under my eyes. But in the last couple days, have definitely noticed slightly dark rings under my eyes. I am thinking this is more likely a nutrient issue

Another update….high platelets….
Just a quick recap and an update on my latest appointment…. I have been under the care of an Haematologist for two years now, referred by my GP for consistently high platelet counts found during routine blood tests. Platelets usually around 565, highest being 622. I have no symptoms although I do also

b12 keeps dropping ferritin
Hi Friends, Has anyone had success raising and maintaining ferritin after it dropped from b12 injections? I first caught the iron issue in October, after shots all last summer. I tried many supplements until landing on the least bad offender to my stomach. I got my ferritin to 33, but it dropped

Running on Empty with Headspace
So why am I running on empty today? On Monday after a lovely day with my brother and sister at Birmingham's Christmas Market with Gluwein and a long lunch, it was off to the city's donation centre to give blood. I know from last time, that it takes 2-3 weeks to get my iron levels up sufficiently to run
