I posted my daughters pre hysterectomy bloods in September and had some excellent advice. She has redone the blood tests and I still think the thyroid test results are strange.

She has been on iron for 8 weeks. The first results are for September. And the second for December. Not all we’re done in September. Range in brackets.

Ferritin. 24.56. (13 to 150). 32.6 (13 to 150)

Vitamin D. Not done. 50. (50 to 175)

Vitamin b12. Not done. 83 (37.5 to 150)

Folate Not done 10.60 (>3.89)

Cholesterol Not done 6.76 (4<)

TSH. 1.73. (0.27 to 4.2). 1.72(0.27 to 4.2)

Free T4. 11.8 (12 to 22). 10.8 (12 to 22)

Free t3. 3.9 (3.1 to 6.8). 4.4 (3.1 to 6.8)

on HRT

Started vitamin d3 and k2

Started b12 1000ig a day

She eats a low fat low sugar diet so not sure about the cholesterol or can it be related to thyroid results?

I know it’s early days after the hysterectomy but she has recovered well except for sudden exhaustion and sleeping up to 5 hours in the afternoon on top of 10 hours at night. Hair loss and brain fog continue.

Can I please have your thoughts

Yes, cholesterol levels are affected by thyroid levels.

Her iron levels are still pretty low and that affects your hair and your thyroid function.

How low fat is her diet? You do need some fat in your diet to function properly. Also she will need to eat something fatty when taking the vitamin D (unless it's an oral spray).

A low fat diet is not necessary for anything - or anyone - the body needs good fats like butter, and olive oil. Low-fat diets are a very bad idea and can lead to a host of other problems, like depression.

And fat has nothing to do with cholesterol! They are two different sustances. Her cholesterol is high because her T3 is low.

I think I misled on low fat diet, she uses olive oil and other so called good fats, but is showing high bad fat and low good fats

I don't know what you mean by 'showing bad and good' fats. How does that show up in a blood test?
