Airport travel with Injections
Can some experienced travellers who use Pegasys give me some advice please. I am travelling this week from the UK to Mexico, and have bought a Disoncare insulin cooler to keep my Pegasys syringes in whilst travelling. I will keep this in my Hand Luggage, but I’m not sure what to do with the needle

Treatment changes - Rituximab?
Finally saw my consultant again last week. Think he was quite surprised at how swollen my hands have become and he said I'd done well to keep going. So am feeling a little more positive, though I'm battling through a lot of pain. The steroid jabs I had in my finger and thumb base seem to have given

combined therapy help
Hi a little advise if possible: normally levo 125mg and thybon 5mg. A new endo has taken me off thybon to try and work out if I have diabetes inspidius (water balance issues). I think I was slightly too hyper but 3 weeks later and I feel terrible - weight gain, constipation, no apetite. I don’t think

Dry eye following Trabeculectomy
Hello I had a right trabeculectomy nearly 4 months ago & all was well until about a week ago. I have used regular lubricating drops as I have had the same surgery in my left eye that was complicated by uveitis. I have tried a variety of lubricating drops & eventually Theoloz gel was recommended & worked

Sue perhaps you can help me, I have been successfully relying on diet for years but RLS seems to be catching up. I am in Australia. Perhaps its simply a matter of getting older (currently 79) but a couple of other things might be a problem. I tore a hamstring muscle or tendon that apparently caused

Stretching and exercising after cataract ops
Hi! I did skim this site to see if anyone recently asked about my question, but didn't see anything. I have cataract operations on 12 and 19 June (I also have high IOP but generally below 21; I'm astigmatic (which the ops should correct), and a form of strabismus, where my eye muscles don't line

NICE: Teprotumumab for treating thyroid eye disease ID 6432 - being scoped
I have just noticed a new NICE guideline has been started. Only a skeleton at present - in the guideline scoping state. It will probably be years before it is completed. It is good that it has been selected for further work but must be devastating for anyone suffering TED to see how far away this (potential

Bowel and bladder problems after Radiotherapy
Hi, I am Maz and I am 76 years old, I still work but from home now. I have suffered with multiple sclerosis for over 40 years although apart from the early years it hasn't bothered me too much until 2013 when I was diagnosed with anal cancer stage T3. I underwent some chemo and a great deal of radiotherapy

Frequent styes
I know that this is not a serious symptom, but I was just wondering if anyone else keeps getting styes. I seem to get rid of one and then a week later get another. My eyes are very sore.I do all the recommended things with eye hygiene, changing makeup regularly and heat pad on my lids. Could this be

Eye drops
Hello, I would like your advice regarding eye drops. I am very myopic and also have cataracts. I use hyabak often throughout the day but my eyes still feel dry and uncomfortable which I think is making my sight even worse! I’m wondering whether I should try longer lasting eye drops. Any suggestions would

Unilateral or bilateral procedure?
I was recently referred by my optician as slight differences were noted since last year’s appointment. My referral outcome letter says my optician was “…… querying cupping of the left eye in particular “ and ends with “… Disc ocular coherence topography shows suspicious optic disc on the left side in

Low eye pressure
I have Normal Tension Glaucoma and had a Deep Scleretomy operation on my right eye 18 months ago ( I believe this is a similar operation to a trab, the aim being to lower the pressure) and I have a bleb under my eyelid. Immediately after surgery the pressure dropped to 3 but gradually over eight months

Thyroid, Cortisol And Sodium Question
Hi All, Got my latest results and it's a bit messy. I got off NDT 1,5 grains and switched to 88 mcg of levo, my old levo I was on before. Prior to that, I was on 75/88 mcg, alternating. So I increased and now re-checked my bloods after 8 weeks. Btw, I'm well versed in everything recommended here

A few questions about being a. ‘Glaucoma suspect’
Hi, first post for me. I’ve been reading your messages since February and they have been very helpful so thank you all!! This is the rather longwinded background: My husband was picked up at a routine eye test as having some changes suggestive of glaucoma. He was seen pretty quickly (within 2-3 weeks

CLL - Leukemia Cutis
Hello everyone. CLL Dx 2002, unmutated, Trisomy12, Notch 1. O+I 2 years, Off meds 2 years (heart surgery), WBC has been slowly rising ove4r the past 4 or 5 months, but I was never at MRD. A biopsy of a "rash" on my scalp shows Leukemia Cutis - most likely CLL related. Has anyone else had this? How
