Thyroid, Cortisol And Sodium Question

Hi All,

Got my latest results and it's a bit messy.

I got off NDT 1,5 grains and switched to 88 mcg of levo, my old levo I was on before. Prior to that, I was on 75/88 mcg, alternating. So I increased and now re-checked my bloods after 8 weeks.

Btw, I'm well versed in everything recommended here. I supplement with iron, B12, D, folate, take my meds the right way and test my bloods the right way - fasted, before 9am, etc. So that's not an issue.

I've been feeling dizzy, faint, nauseous and just not right and no wonder - my sodium is so low!

I had normal sodium, cortisol of 419, and suppressed TSH, T4 and T3 60% of the range, but I had to get off as it was causing me swelling in the neck and my anti-bodies went up. Also, started to have higher BP and pulse, but maybe the dose was too high.

So now, things are a bit of a mess.

TSH 2.779

T4 66% of the range

T3 27.6% of the range

Cortisol is 350 nmol/l

Sodium is 132 (137-145)

I eat like a teaspooon of salt in my diet already. I gonna get an electrolyte IV to start to feel better.

I know I need to increase my T3 levels.

So should I:

1. Increase to 100 mcg of levo, but my T4 is already 66% of the range

2. Add a quarter of a grain of NDT and see how it goes

3. Synthetic T3 didn't work for me before, but if the other 2 fail, I could try it again.

I know I'll need to test aldosterone, but it will take time and I need to do something to start feeling better now! (any private UK labs that test for it?)

What would be your suggestion in my situation please?

I'm on NDT and today I tried a different brand at 10am to make up for the 3 grains I skipped two days while unsure of what is going on. Within a half hr I had energy when I have be EXHAUSTED. I don't know it all. However, think you should have T3...

You can’t take more medication to make up for forgetting to take meds.

Batty1 I didn't. I basically replaced the next days dose with a different brand. It's the same thing just it seems stronger is all. The think brands matter. Thank you for your reply
