Reconstruction Expanders
In 10 days scheduled to have a mastectomy, lymph node, and expander put in. Is the expander very painful- have heard mixed things? I am very thin and small-breasted and putting a foreign object w/ a piece of metal under my chest muscle sounds horrible :( Thanks for any feedback

CPAP machineto help breathing with coronavirus
I’m new here.. I’m over 70 with reduced lung capacity/pulmonary hypertension. Worried about the effects of covid19 I wonder if there would be any benefit in using my CPAP machine to assist my breathing if I get the virus. The CPAP machine is to prevent sleep apnoea and just pumps air (not oxygen) into

Sourcing T3? And a question about cows
Hi all, I asked on my previous post about sourcing T3. But I think the post got buried. I’m in the UK and want to buy some from a trusted source to try it as I don’t appear to be great at converting t4. Please could you PM me if you are in the UK saved have a good source or from anywhere and know

Smaller pancreas than normal
Hi, my thoracic surgeon advised me yesterday that my pancreas is smaller than normal. I had total gastrectomy 6 months ago and I have been having some pain after eating. Does anyone know if I am not producing enough enzymes, causing issues to gain weight?

Treatment With Intramuscular Levothyroxine in Refractory Hypothyroidism
Given the regular appearance of patients who appear unable to tolerate levothyroxine, I thought this paper had the potential to be very interesting. And indeed the abstract is fascinating - as far as it goes. The full paper will be accessible in PubMed Central from 01/06/2020. [i]Eur Thyroid J, 8 (

Sotalol side effects
I've had both SVT and AF ablation's. The SVT was from just after I had my first child and was severe. The ablation for that took and I was put on Verapemil (sp?) I had no further SVT and all was well. Then after 30 years I began 11 years of hell that brought me here: total gastrectomy; followed 3 years

The Other Breast
Good morning Ladies, I’m in a bit of a “tizzy”. I had a right mastectomy in Oct because the cancer there was Her2 - and it was growing again after I stopped taxotere. I now have only 3 small her2+ places in my left lung that I’m about to have sbrt on one of them. I’ve been on herceptin and perjeta

How many hours do you sleep?
Does anyone sleep at least 6 hours straight at night? Or is it always fragmented for you? What do you do to have a good night's sleep. My dad can't seem to get more than 4-5 hours a night. Sometimes he takes a cbd/melatonin/valarian tincture, other times an Aleve night pill... He has taken marijuana

Pregnyl injections
Hi, I’m on pregnyl injections to help implantation, due to take the last one tonight. I know it’s synthetic hcg so can cause false positives on home tests, but I’m actually dying to test early! Does anyone know if the digital tests make a difference to the normal ones? I’m assuming I have hcg in my

Which antidepressants can you take if you have Afib?
I am not new but I have not done a lot of posting so far. I have been looking up posts about Afib and Antidepressants, because my doctor will only give me Mirtazapine and slow-release Venlafaxine, both of which make me very sleepy. The most recent posts I found were 5 months ago, the others 3 and 5

How to Emotionally Prepare for Surgery
A few years ago, a friend preparing for her double mastectomy asked me, “𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘆?” This is a great question. Here are some things that helped me: 1. Take photos. You could schedule a photo shoot or have someone close to you take

Surgery with an auto immune disorder
Good morning all Some issues have come to light in my family recently which mean I may be eligible for a BRCA ( it’s the gene mutation which increases the risk of breast cancer amongst others) test. It seems to me that the worst possible outcome would be to agree to the test, be tested positive but then

Chronic eosinophilic pneumonia treatment options
