First time poster overwhelmed with symptoms and considering self-medicating with bovine adrenals & NDT. Asking for advice & recommendations
I'm working through the GAPS intro diet at the moment to try to heal my gut and I have a
Sigmoidoscopy
booked in April. I saw my UK GP recently about my symptoms and test results (which I got privately) and they prescribed me HRT, Fluoxetine, and Levothyroxine.

Colonoscopy report
She said it'll only be a flexible
sigmoidoscopy
so the laxatives are not so strong. Some consolation. I have to wait 6 weeks for the biopsy results, but the sites were random because it all looked normal. It's to check for microscopic colitis. I am pleased though that I didn't have sedation.

bleeding in stool and when wiping
Hey I’m 44, for about 13 years I have had IBS C (did have a
sigmoidoscopy
to rule out anything sinister) and I rely on laxatives to have a BM.

IBS, possibly menopause, any advice
It got so bad ( the abdominal pain ) that I eventually sought help, it took a few years of repeated doctor visits and hospital visits, a laparoscopy along with internal scans and a
sigmoidoscopy
to be told IBS, reduce stress and read a book about it and change my eating habits.

1 colonoscopy + 1 sigmoidoscopy in 3 years; symptoms persist
In the past three years I’ve had a colonoscopy (July 2020) that was clear and a
sigmoidoscopy
a year later in May 2021 that found small internal hemorrhoids and a hypertrophic anal papillae (benign).

Concerned, nervous…
In 2017 I had a
sigmoidoscopy
/endoscopy done. The doctor did not diagnose me with anything. Only told me I had “redness” in my lower colon, internal hemorrhoids, and redness in my duodenum. Also told me I most likely had IBS.

Managing Pudendal Neuralgia pain
Hi all, I joined this forum to remain on top of developments around the complex pelvic floor issues affecting women and to seek support from others. In my experience these are generally poorly understood by doctors in the UK especially at consultant level and there is an absence of multi agency support

looking for answers
I have since had an mri and am awaiting a
sigmoidoscopy
. The consultants are being very vague and I am struggling to get straight answers from them regarding exactly where the endometriosis is and best next steps.

Colchicine toxicity & Behcets gastro symptoms
I had a flexi
sigmoidoscopy
and not the full colonoscopy and no issues were identified other than a few piles. I’ve currently been having looser and looser stools to the point where I am getting a breakthrough on clothing etc.

Please someone reassure me that this is another IBS flare up
The doctor said IBS again due to negative results and also based on my previous history of negative tests along with normal
sigmoidoscopy
. I've been having sporadic bad IBS flares which appear different everytime for around 5 years.

Hydroxycarbamide/ Intestinal Problems
It is being investigated yet again with
sigmoidoscopy
but the doctors’ strike in UK may cause delay. I have read in the HU rare side effects can cause intestinal problems and would welcome any feed back .

Sigmoidoscopy Checks - Blood
My doctor assured me the first time not to worry but the second time suggested a
sigmoidoscopy
and referred me over. Naturally the mind went wild. There was quite a wait but after about 8 weeks I was seen today. The procedure was painless, if a little uncomfortable and over quickly.
